All that.
acid can make your heart race with anxiety...
And that. I'm not entirely sure about this, myself, but I'll see what I can come up with.

Re: lsd pacemaker and beta blockers
" LSD users can experience dramatic increases in heart rate. This is largely caused by the fact that LSD can trigger anxiety and extremely intense reactions which can definitely lead to profound changes in blood pressure and heart rate. In this regard, the effects of LSD on the heart are more like riding a roller coaster than like taking a stimulant drug. Severe adverse reactions are much less likely in therapeutic settings, however. It won't always happen, but if you have a serious heart condition, its a gamble you probably shouldn't take. If you have an enlightened doctor, discuss it with him and see what his opinion is."
Depending on how sensitive his heart is, I really would recommend against it. Like the above quote stated, though, he could console a doctor about it. Doctors have a strict privacy policy and they WILL NOT contact any form of authorities for admittance/discussion of drug use. Of course, the doctor will probably say absolutely not, but he might give you a more informative answer as well.
Below is an extensive thread about LSD use regarding both heart conditions and beta blockers. It'll certainly be more informative than I can be.

Re: lsd pacemaker and beta blockers
LSD has a dirty, messy binding profile. It fucks with dopamine, histamine, and adrenaline receptors. I wouldn't put that in my body if I had a pacemaker. If he needs to take a psychedelic, I'd strongly advise one with more specificity, like psilocybin or mescaline
