Re: ammo restrictions in january?
I read somewhere that guns kill people.
1. Who is "they?"
2. Unless someone can cite a bill being written into law, or explain why this is not necessary, assume that though this is probably a desired move on the part of unfriendly politicians, it's not happening.

Re: ammo restrictions in january?
Guns don't kill people. Massive trauma and or blood loss do.
So does heartbreak I'm afraid.:(

Microstamping goes on the guns, not the ammo.
But yes, that one is stupid also.

Doesn't go into effect until 2010 (or possibly 2011, I forget). I'm moving to washington state next year, though.

Re: ammo restrictions in january?
It's a shame... there's no state out there that goes along well with my TWO favorite hobbies...
Smoking pot and growing pot is good to go in Cali, but no guns.
Guns are good in Florida (gunshine state) but no good in Cali.
When will I ever win!!!

Re: ammo restrictions in january?
Stupid laws for a even stupider country(gov't wise)
Stock up now i guess :)
But the plan wont work. Soon as they do this, the prices WILL go up(the companies will have to buy new equipment, etc)
Then the gov't will be like "lets ban guns and all ammo aswell"
Then police state = rebellion = mass death = plague = the end/game over

Re: ammo restrictions in january?
Couldn't you get around this by reloading your own ammo?

Yup.
I'm sitting on about,
5K of once fired 9X19MM brass.
3K of once fired 5.56X45MM brass.
3K of once fired .45ACP brass.
2K of once fired 7.62X39MM brass.
I've been putting off getting a reloading setup...
However I might make that investment soon.

]
Um what?
"A person can obtain a permit to carry a concealed handgun if the person:
Is 21 years of age or older.
Is eligible to own or possess a firearm under state and federal law.
Has been a resident of the state for 90 days preceding application for permit.
Has not been convicted of two or more class A misdemeanors within the preceding six years.
Is not currently or has not within three years been ordered by a court to complete an alcohol treatment or substance abuse program.
Has demonstrated competence with handguns." from your link
