Nootropics- your 2 cents
Post some nootropics you've tried and some info on them.
Here's mine
Ginkgo biloba extracts: Improve my concentration a little, prevents me from getting zoned out /tired, and mildly improves memory. However it's kind of pricey, and leaves me a little spaced out after

Re: Nootropics- your 2 cents
I got a kilo of piracetam a few years back. My friend did a few lines of the stuff out of pure excitement of having a fucking kilo of the stuff. Personally, when I was back in high school, I would do WORSE on tests while on piracetam. Not sure why.
In a low/no stress situation however, the stuff does make you rock and roll. Like amps minus the raw energy. You'll focus like none other. However, if taking piracetam, do invest in some Choline, as that keeps irritability down.
Same friend who did a line of piracetam occasionally gets oxyracetam, but I haven't tried that so I wouldn't be able to speak on that matter.
As for the piracetam, I say grab some. It's worth it.

It's dumb to even ask, legal or otherwise. This forum does not need any more negative attention. Asking about, telling about, linking to, or promoting any online pharmacy is a good way to find yourself under the ban hammer.

Re: Nootropics- your 2 cents
If the products are completely legal, they should show up on a cursory search. As piracetam and the like are sold as supplements in the US, rather than drugs, they're not exclusive to pharmacies...

Re: Nootropics- your 2 cents
I think nootropical supplementing is something everyone should try at least once before passing any judgment or simply thinking that they're "not for them." They can be greatly beneficial in many ways, body and mind, and if taken regularly can most definitely enhance mood and overall wellbeing, and help maintain a healthy body. Anyway, here goes:
Tryptophan (precursor of 5-htp) - An essential amino acid, found in some foods. Sleep aid, mood enhancement, and helps with a lot of bodily functions.
5-htp - Helps with depression, can greatly reduce the occurrence of nightmares, helps with chronic daily headache and can improve symptoms of fibromyalgia.
B complex - Support and increase the rate of metabolism, enhances immune and nervous system function, promotes cell growth and division, maintain healthy skin and muscle tone. They can also help with stress, and symptoms of depression, and helps combat cardiovascular disease.
Omega-3 fatty acids - Found in fish, but can be bought in fish flax oil gelcaps at any pharmacy. Helps with blood circulation and can help maintain a healthy blood pressure and can also help prevent heart attacks. Has shown improvements in depression and anxiety. There are a lot more benefits with these, however, they also have some health risks, which is all listed here:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Omega_3
Ginseng - Helps with stress, anxiety, fatigue, is an aphrodisiac and helps in enhance copulatory performance, and may help prevent type II diabetes,
Ginkgo Biloba - Increases blood flow to the brain, helps with memory and concentration, may help treat Alzheimer's and tinnitus.
Modafinil - Good replacement for caffeine. Helps with fatigue and drowsiness. mood elevation. Can reduce appetite and help in weight loss. Has shown positive results with ADHD, Parkinson's, schizophrenia, but none of that is recognized by the FDA.
LSD ( ) - Amazing tool for the mind. Promotes self betterment, can permanently enhance overall outlook, and can give a positive shift in perception. Although, if heavily abused, it can turn you into a glass of orange juice, cause blindness from staring at the sun, or make you jump from high places with the false impression that you can fly.
Okay, fine, that last one is a bit of a joke (except all the positive stuff I said about it ).
These all (except that last one, unfortunately) can be found at any GNC or other similar pharmacies. If you purchase them in bulk, you can get several months worth of them all for about a hundred bucks or so, which in the long run isn't very expensive at all, especially considering the health benefits.

Re: Nootropics- your 2 cents
Tryptophan was banned in the US for a number of years, following a scare about twenty years back. The prohibitions were relaxed a few years ago, but it's still difficult to find at retail.
Modafinil is Schedule IV, meaning that you need a prescription but no one really gives a shit if you don't have one. It's unregulated in many countries and available through less-legal means which we will not discuss here. Adrafinil is unregulated and is metabolized into modafinil. Aside from a slightly longer onset, it's practically identical in effects.
LSD is Schedule I, meaning it's quite fun and equally illegal
The rest of them are unregulated and readily available at any health shop, or even your local supermarket in many cases.

Re: Nootropics- your 2 cents
My 2 cents:
Piracetam...doesn't do much...(inb4inb4)
My Fav's:
SUNFLOWER SEED MILKSHAKE!!!
Good stuff - 1 cup of sunflowers, soaked in water to dissolve the niacin and b6 and salt (eww) and then mixed with 4 ice cubes milk to the top of the ice cubes and seven seconds of chocolate syrup, yum!! This...rocks.
DLPA THREAD YAAY (http://www.totse.com/community/showthread.php?t=2101411&highlight=dlpa)
I've been obsessed with it, it rocks too, love it, been eatin' that up daily for the past, half year and almost daily with the sunflower seed milkshake.
At this point I've stopped my search for altering my chemistry because my system works for how I want it to work.

Re: Nootropics- your 2 cents
I'm not sure about the definition of nootropics, but here is what i've tried in large amounts over the counter:
I know that melatonin and valerian root are a great combination. I take around 10mg of melatonin and 7 capsules of valerian root (around three times the recommended dose) and i get pretty sedated....just easier to chill out if your high-strung or something.
Passion flower is another good one.
I also tried these sleep drops alongside valerian root after i ran out of melatonin...they had green oats(aerial parts), skullcap(aerial parts), passion flower(aerial parts), caffea, and nux vom.(??). I'm not sure about the effects of the drops because i took them alongside the valerian root, but that combo worked ok.

Re: Nootropics- your 2 cents
I'm not sure about the definition of nootropics,
"Nootropics, popularly referred to as "smart drugs", "smart nutrients", "cognitive enhancers" and "brain enhancers", are a class of drugs that improve impaired human cognitive abilities (the functions and capacities of the brain). The term covers a broad range of substances including drugs, nutrients and herbs that have purported cognitive enhancing effects."

Maybe it's just me but I'm holding a bottle of tryptophan that I bought at Walgreens right now. Either way, 5-HTP is a good enough replacement. Faster to serotonin and gives you the same sleepy feeling (if that's what you're looking for).
