Harvest Fest
So tomorrow night i plan to head up to Maine with a few friends of mine, camp out on my buddies property, and go to harvest fest. Probably gonna trip for my first time, and smoke ridiculous amounts of weed, but i don't really need to tell you guys any of this. Gonna leave around 930 tomorrow night from providence and hopefully get their 'bout oooh 2'clock ta tha mornin.
Not much really i can say, i'm just seein what you guys k now. anyone ever been to harvest fest? How's the police situation? i hear it's pretty lax but can't be too sure. Any stretches of high way loaded with staties waiting to pull people over that they suspect coming back from harvest fest? anything you guys gotta say.

Re: Harvest Fest
Most festivals the police situation is pretty lax. They know drug use is widespread, and they're not so much worried about the consumers as they are the dealers.
Don't be stupid about things. If you can, try not to buy stuff out in the open. Going to someones car or in their tent is usually the way to go. If anyone is acting the LEAST BIT sketchy, especially if you're buying acid -- don't buy their stuff. Chances are the acid is rather weak for the price, or it's not even acid at all. Actually, this applies for every drug you buy. The obvious hippie types are the goto guys for good drugs, and good prices. Especially their acid. 9 times out of 10, you'll get some kick-you-in-the-face acid from them. Look for people decked out in Grateful Dead gear
And yes, while the police in the fest itself aren't excessive, you can bet there are cops swarming like angry bees on the highways around it. That's pretty much how it goes at every fest -- too many people in the fest itself to bust, but on the road everyone is fair game. If they see a car piled with luggage with college age kids in it, they're going to try and find whatever reason they can to pull you over. Give them no reason to pull you over, and they can't. Make sure you registration is up to date, your lights all work, and you stay 5mph within the speed limit. I wouldn't even so much as throw a cigarette out the window, since littering is technically against the law in most states, and I'm sure some douchebag cop will use that as a reason to fill his drug quota for the month.

Re: Harvest Fest
we're trying to be fairly smart about this. My buddy has a nice radar detector we'll bring with us, so that should help a bit. Also i'm using my mothers whip to get up their a 2007 mitsubishi outlander, a very unsketchy car from what i've been told. as for stashing the weed, i know there isn' much you can do about dogs, but assuming they don't go to that extent we'll grab maybe two of those gallon size peanut butter jars and stash some in there, and we also got one of those fake araznona ice tea cans that are sold and heavy like a full can but the top screws off and you stash it in there. that can was taken from my friend when he was arrested with an O in it, brought to the police stasion and such and the cops didn't know a thing. if worst comes to worst i usually have a rubber band around my wrist so i can just rubber band the shit to my bean bag. if i remember i'll post some pics of this festival when i'm back on sunday. good lucks with the advice.

Re: Harvest Fest
tip: come back 95, but don't speed until you've cleared boston. ditch the radar detector, you don't need it. just don't drive like a kidiot and you'll be all cool. make sure your moms car is up to snuff and no lights are out. sense it is an SUV stash spots galore dude. use your head. if the glovebox locks, use that and make sure the insurance card/registration isn't in there...
from my experiences, maine itself isn't heavily patrolled outside of populated area's [portland/bangor etc]

Re: Harvest Fest
I've been to over a dozen festivals and I've never been to one that had dogs. Usually the people at the gates who search are regular folks on the staff so they can get free tickets, so they don't give a fuck.
As far as cops on the road go, concealing stuff is always a good idea, but they won't call in dogs unless you give them reasonable suspicion. Remember, unless they have a legitimate reason to search, they can't unless you give them permission. If they ask something retarded like "got something to hide?", just reply with "No, I know my rights, and I'm trying to get home as soon as I can" or something along those lines.
For securing bud, I have two Rx bottles, one that's large enough for the smaller one to fit in. I thoroughly wash each of them every time I use them -- bag the bud several times being as careful as I can with any residue (even using gloves). Once the buds are bagged, I'll put them in the smaller bottle, and put that one in the large container. Even got by dogs once.
Also, another technique for fending off the dogs is pepper, preferably cayenne. It irritates the fuck out of their sinuses, so they'll very quickly lose interest in your car.
The radar detector will definitely be a nice addition, but if they're illegal in Maine be sure to keep it out of sight just in case you do get pulled over.

95 is the most heavily policed road on the east coast, and the cops will know about this festival within at least a 100 mile radius of where it's being held. These events are like shooting fish in a barrel for cops, they're going to jump at any chance they get to bust people going home.
Also, don't speed at all until you get home. It's not worth the risk just 'cuz you/your friends might be speed demons.
Also, just in case you do get pulled over, make sure you guys aren't decked out in tie-dye and stuff like that. Try to look as clean cut as possible

Re: Harvest Fest
I don't think vilbe's advocating driving without papers. He's trying to say that you shouldn't keep them in the same spot as your drugs. Popping the glove box to grab your registration and having an ounce of bud fall out does not make for happy campers.

Oh. Silly me.
It seems I've made several foolish posts this evening. Once again, I blame the drugs.

yes it is the most heavily policed road, however its also has the most volume, therefore making blending pretty easy. if your driving competenly you'll not have a problem. the chances of you getting randomly pulled over on 95 vs a state/rural road is in favor of 95 actually...
and yea, i'm advocating keeping your important papers/id seperate from your drugs. and also, pick the person most likely to drive like a senior citizen...
