If that were true, you could accomplish this same effect by just touching the milk. I think it has more to do with the proteins in the milk being denatured by the dish soap making the colors more motile.

we did this in science class in middle school (maybe freshman yr in hs?)
the only differences was that we used a petri-dish, only 2 dyes, and a toothpick dipped in soap.
You have to use a certain type of milk (2% vs fat free?)
