Well, not wanting to rain on your parade but it's been doing that without you. No offense of course. This forum has always managed to exceed beyond the 4chan-esque/Half Baked level of quality. Although I'm quite eager to read some of your recipies again.

Also, while I'm here, do you think it's worth having a sticky in the vein of the cigar and knife threads for wine (or beers, drinks, etc)?

Probably, it was just never done while I was still a mod. It would need to be a thread to encompass a range of things about beverages though. Either a mixed drink thread (for recipes), or a review thread (for wine, beer, and spirits). But.. I can't see OI needing both. For the time being I'm thinking its best to just leave it as it is. We talk about drinks a lot, but usually a specific thread for a specific subject. I actually used to have a review thread a while back, but I seemed to be the only one who posted on it (mainly beer reviews), and I'm not really sure what happened to it.

One thing I've always wanted to do, and a thread with recipes for mixed drinks would definitely help it along the way... is compile a monthly, or annual... or maybe quarterly (I think that would be best, every three months) "OI Recipe Book". Not a real book of course, but just a text file that could be hosted independently and also submitted to &totse's text files.

And yes OI is a very low maintenace forum. It would probably SURVIVE with no moderator at all. But I was voted most I guess so here I am. Jackketch said he's leaving though, and if the forum expands then there may be room.
