| Better Living Through Chemistry Discussions of any and all sorts of mind-warping chemicals, pills, booze, mind machines, trippy stuff, current street prices, importing pharmaceuticals, smart drugs, nutrients, herbs, and altered states. Please try to keep your conversations "theoretical" in nature, since this is an open conference. |

Manufacture of RCs
Title says it all, but the true question is "what one is the most realistic choice?" While I don't have 10+ years under my belt, I can handle my own. Also, I don't have a shitload of money to invest in precursors and wont buy red flag chems.

Re: Manufacture of RCs
Hold on a second, so you are smart enough to pull off the complex reactions to synthesize this, but you are too stupid to flip through Pihkal/Tihkal? This sounds like another "omg I has pills how 2 coook meth" threads.
But to answer your questions if you want to make "RC" then try some GHB

Re: Manufacture of RCs
I admire Shulgin's work, but he doesnt list any complications he has had, nor little tweaks, etc... Then, I realized I posted in the wrong place. Chances are the majority of &t bltc hasnt tried or has no clue the best choice, but I had some memories of &t and decided to run it past.

Figure it out yourself.
But you have no chem knowledge, equipment, money, or idea what you're doing. Just give up now.

Re: Manufacture of RCs
lab tips?
Aaaaannnd the newbie wins the prize!
...not that we wouldn't make fun of the OP for a while there. 's one of those "if you knew how, or even heard a thirdhand rumor in your quest to know how, you'd know what's easiest" things... but it's still supposed to "make fun of for two days then lock" in a different forum. ;)
Props to the OP for not buying flagged chems, though. That's kinda bright.

Re: Manufacture of RCs
Try starting out with a basic acid/base extraction of something with active alkaloids in it...
try to cleanly extract DMT out of mimosa hostillis root bark...

...aaaaaannnd jamaica wins a prize for "best answer for the question so far." This keeps up, inflation's going to devalue them... but I figured - being in a babbling mood - I'd just expand on the part I quoted for a sec, soo...
OP : which of the following sounds easiest to you...
- lysis of a lactone.
- lysis of an amide.
- esterification of a hydroxyl group.
- dealkylation of a hydroxyl group.
- formation of an enol.
- esterification of an acyl group.
- dealkylation of an acyl group.
- rearrangement of an oxime to an amine.
- alkylation of an aromatic group.
- decarboxylation of an acyl group.
- selective methoxylation of an aromatic group.
...?
Do try to give the BBS sufficient information about your situations to actually answer your question, no?
