Like, I smoke weed plenty, and I know its not really bad for me other than lungs, but I try to jog and stay pretty active to work off munchies so I'm straight with that.

And with the recent thread on weather E is harmful or not, is abusing oxy's detremental to ones health? Weather it be the liver or whatnot

Its usually the other stuff in opiate pills that can have harmful effects (unless you get horribly addicted), for example APAP in percocets, not necessarily OC's, I'm sure there is other stuff, but i'm not too experienced with opiates.

Opiates are relatively harmless to your body... That is until you get addicted, then you have to deal with withdrawals. The junkie lifestyle is probably the most detrimental effect opiates will have on your body.

Constipation/ problems pissing. It's strange, whenever I do H I don't have that much of a problem pissing but with morphine it's fucking hellish. Not being able to piss for hours on end.... having to stand outside with a tap running, trying to concentrate on thoughts of waterfalls, rivers etc. it's not that much fun when you keep on nodding off and you need to piss so much it hurts. That really sucks man. Common sense tells me that it's not really all that good for your bodies health. That and being a fucking junky.

I can't drink alcohol because of prostate problems (prostatitis diagnosed at 20 I'm 21 now) which causes testicle pain, last thing I need is something restricting my bladder or something.

Aside from becoming a junkie and having to deal with w/d's and all that the worst thing you'd have to deal with I can think of is constipation...I say go for it.

I've heard some people say that their shortterm memory take quite the beating after years of moderate opiate abuse. (like 200mg codeine a day for 3 years or like daily oxycodone use for years)

listen, my father is a lucky guy. he used to use about 500 mgs of oxy a day. possibly near the 800mg range because his 460mg a day script would run out two weeks early. Anyways before he went to rehab he was withdrawing and stuff and then when he finally went we cleaned his house to get rid of any evidence of drug use for when he came back. we found a bottle with 7 80's in it and my step mom flushed them :(....point is, my dad was withdrawing but he didnt even remember he had those pills.


when he got back he was like an 8 year old boy. it was very hard for me. and no he didnt remember much. he was forgetting what they were talking about mid conversation consistantly.

not to mention he is 50 but looks like he is 60.

Like they force you to go through violent and sudden withdrawal and thus quite badly fuck you up.
I hear tales of people who are can't function with a heavy dose of opiates or whathaveyou in them, then they get 'clean' and just seem even more of a wreck than when they where junkies.

i get this feeling quite a bit, but then you have to realize they are smarter than your average drug user...

Exactly, they may be smarter, but that doesn't mean more knowledgable.

If you end up in a rehab clinic with horribly judgemental religious freaks you can end up taking some serious harm.

Im not sure being a rehab worker automatically means you have the druggies best interest at heart. Or maybe you do, but that doesnt mean you actually know whats best for them.
Say you've been popping valiums like candy for 3 years, and you end up with a religous freak who believes that GOD WILL SET YOU FREE and locks you up and quits you cold turkey.

oh yea and dont forget the psychical and psychological withdrawal after using it for a while... and generally being an addict...
