It's just in a sandwich bag right now. If I were to put it in my freezer in just the sandwich bag would its appearance change in any way?

I assume it's cured & dried? Anyways, just make sure it's a airtight bag, and try to suck as much air out as possible. The act of freezing itself wont do anything to dry bud, you might have a problem if it's fresh though.

My roommate keeps most of his stash in the freezer and the rest that he is going to smoke that week in a medicine bottle.

As far as I can tell, if the weed is in a pretty air tight container (mason jar) it wont get that nasty freezer taste or anything.

It gets cold.

It turns into a hot fudge sundae if you leave it in too long.

I'd put it in something more airtight than a baggie, maybe a jar or a Tupperware container.

But it will keep your weed tasting fresh, I suppose. I've heard of people storing cartons of cigs in their freezer to keep them fresh, so I would assume it would serve the same purpose.
