where is my mind?
|
|
so ive got a bit of a confusing/awkward/ situation...
first off a little backstory to fully understand the situation, my friend, ill call her S, just moved into mine and my other friend's apartment from southern california. now this is one of my closest friends and i love her to death. well one day last year completely on random we had sex while i was on ecstacy, for no reason really. we had no real sexual attraction whatsoever, no tension, any of that. well we had sex then just continued on being homies and havent hooked up or thought of hooking up since. the whole thing was just a random event that meant NOTHING.
anyways im currently dating an amazing girl in my new home, who i believe im steadily falling in love with. we've been dating for about 2 months or so and have only been "official" for a few weeks. and honestly i couldnt be happier with anyone else :) she lives 2 buildings over in my complex and is over smoking and just hanging out daily. but the best part is that my roommate is stoked on her (he knows my past with stupid ass females), and so is my other roommate S. this girl is basically a grade a match on every level.
the last few days ive been wondering whether or not i should even bring up this little mistake to my current girlfriend as i dont want to create any tension in my relationship and everyone else's friendship. there are literally NO thoughts about hooking up with S ever again, but i don't know if it will ever get brought up later on possibly creating even more skepticism because i wasn't up front about it.
advice anyone? ladies, what would you do if I was your boyfriend and didnt tell you about it?
TL;DR: one of my best friends whom i had sex with a year ago moved into my apartment, should i tell my current girlfriend about our once in a lifetime sexual encounter?

No. That will make it awkward for when the two females come into contact.

Re: so ive got a bit of a confusing/awkward/ situation...
Don't bring it up. Not only will the two of them now feel awkward around one another, your current squeeze probably just doesn't want to hear about you banging a chick that still lives VERY close-by -- you wouldn't want to hear about all the dicks she's been with, would you? Great. Keep it silent.

I agree with everyone else. Why the hell would you even consider such a bad idea?

Re: so ive got a bit of a confusing/awkward/ situation...
Why would you just randomly bring it up? Do you find it necessary to bring up every other random sexual encounter you've had?
And even if you tell your GF you have no attraction to this friend whatsoever, GF will still see your roommate as a potential threat.
It'll just cause problems dude.
If for some reason it comes up though be honest.

That's a horrible idea. Keep your fucking mouth shut unless she asks for some insane reason.
Why would you purposely open a can of worms?

Re: so ive got a bit of a confusing/awkward/ situation...
I would recommend that you tell her.
If you don't tell her now she might get angry at you for keeping something like that from her.
She might also get jealous and become really clingy and always msging you asking where you are and what your doing.... i dunno. this is an awkward situation.
or you could just leave it and have someone else tell her and it could blow out of proportion.

Don't tell her unless she asks.
If you do just tell her randomly, it will mean that that encounter has been on your mind, and thus means something to you.

She can't get pissed for him keeping something from her when she didn't ask about it in the first place. I don't understand why people think she has the right to know about every single person he's slept with in the past.
Do you guys sit down with your partner when you first start dating and list everything sexual you've done and who you've done it with? No. It's no ones goddamn business but your own.

Re: so ive got a bit of a confusing/awkward/ situation...
the only reason i ask is because this girl is now living with me and im a pretty honest person, especially when it comes to telling the truth to my sig other. oh, i talked to my roommates about it and they agree with all of you, don't tell her unless she asks later down the road.

Re: so ive got a bit of a confusing/awkward/ situation...
Your potentiation threads make me ejaculate prematuerly so Ill take the time to type out a serious reply.
You should NOT tell her.
Its selfish.
It would just be to make yourself feel better, and it would just make her feel worse.
Best case scenario, she doesnt care, and you end up exactly where you are now.
But since life tends to be a bitch I wouldn't count on that happening.
And no matter how awesome she is now, in a moment of weakness she might hold it against you, and I mean, it was in the past, so you have no obligation to tell her.
Rather, you have an obligation NOT to tell her.
So DONT tell her!

Re: so ive got a bit of a confusing/awkward/ situation...
There's only one situation where you should tell her about it: if she fucking asks. There is absoloutely no reason to tell her. In fact, there is every reason to not tell her.

Re: so ive got a bit of a confusing/awkward/ situation...
Just to drive home the point everyone else has already made, don't tell her. Why risk ruining a good thing over some shit that happened in the past?
Now, if it should arise and become an issue, a level headed girl would understand that the past is the past. If for some reason the issue is brought up, and she can't deal with it, then tough shit. I've been in too many relationships where girls I were with had problems with girls I had been with in the past. It's a trivial thing to get angry about, and I don't quite understand why anyone would care, other than out of jealousy.

This. There's a reason why so many married men are untalkative towards their wives...

You don't need to be untalkative, there are just some things that you don't need to share. For example: how much lint you found between your toes last night. Your girlfriend will never need (or want) to know that.
Being open with your partner is fantastic. Full disclosure about absoloutely everything will tear your relationship apart.
