When most people think of salads, they think green, plain and boring. So what are some of your fav salad creations? Here's one I like making:

Beetroot.
Feta.
Pine nuts.
Rocket.
Dressed with balsamic vinegar.

Pretty basic but it's fresh and tastes great.

I don't normally do salad, but I don't mind:

Lettuce
Tomato
Avocado
Red onion

With a dressing that as far as I can remember is vinegar, mustard,salt + pepper.

Lobster salad is delicious, but I can't find my recipe. I'll have to keep looking for it.

Spinach
Purple onion
Olives
Garlic croutons
Feta cheese
Vinaigrette

I don't like fruit in my salads.

Broccoli raisin bacon salad

At my school's cafe there's a salad bar and I usually end up with: lettuce, diced turkey, shredded cheese, bacon bits, chopped hard boiled egg, croutons, ranch dressing.

of course there's always the great chicken ceaser.

and if you like Chili's they have a salad called the Quesadilla Explosion which is fucking awesome.

This sounds quite nice. I'd probably put tomato and avocado in this though.

The last restaurant I cooked at had award winning salads. One of my favorite was a spinach salad with spiced walnuts (walnuts in an egg wash, mixed in a bowl with cinnamon, crushed cayenne pepper, salt, and black pepper, then put in the oven for a few minutes until they're nice and crunchy), dried cranberries, crumbled goat cheese, and an apple, scallions, and chardonnay vinaigrette. Check it out, its amazing.

Marinated hearts of palm & cherry tomatoes with red onion. Tossed with baby mixed greens and a balsamic vinaigrette. Topped with pistachio nuts, chopped kalamata olives and capers. Served with focaccia croutons.

My favorite salad. For anyone living in DFW I suggeest going to Patrizio's to try it.

i like taco salad. i brown up some ground beef and add the taco seasoning and some refried beans. and i mix that with shredded lettuce, cheese, tomoato, crushed totilla chips, ranch dressing and anything else i want to throw in it at the time. I think it tastes amazing...
