Don't kiss her, just in case.

It's still okay to put your peen0r in her though.

Lightbulb Re: My girlfriend has mono...

I had mono. That shit SUCKED.

Think worst sore throat of your life + evil, violent cold that lasts for over a week.

So annoying.

I'd say give it until a month after she's no longer symptomatic. It technically never leaves your system since it remains dormant in your B cells, and you have the antibodies forever, but it's very rare that she'll transmit it after the infection has run it's course. You could be immune (or even be a carrier yourself) and not know it, as well, so you might not even have to worry.

Of course, I'm not a doctor.

When I got mono my doctor told me that I was not contagious once the symptoms went away but in some rare cases people remain contagious for upto a month afterwards.

Hah, mono always makes for a good time. From what I remember when I had it, it stays in your system forever and occasionally can become un-dormant (I don't know, I'm not a bloody doctor) and you can pretty much infect people for the rest of your life. The likelihood of that happening is really really low, though. Wait until all her symptoms are gone, and then wait at least another month. But keep in mind she may be sick for months, either with mono or with other crap she'll be catching because her immune system is in shambles. Find a new lady. :p

It never goes away, she will just become a carrier. Either bite the bullet, get sick for a few weeks, and become a bit of a social pariah, or break up with her. You will have that shit for life.
