Getting my first tattoo-what to expect
hey i am 15 and have been thinking about getting a tattoo for some time now...finally i have decided to get one. A friend drew me a design (a southern cross with flames off each star) and i am having it tatted onto my left peck.
It is not a professional rather a mate who owns a tattoo gun and can draw. I have seen his work and i trust him, however this is my first time; what should i expect? is it going to be painful?
thanks

Re: Getting my first tattoo-what to expect
What can you expect from a friend with a tattoo gun, who is not a pro? Hepatitis, aids, a crappy tattoo? Ok mabe that’s jumping the gun, but I would STRONGLY urge you to get your tattoo (especially because its your first) at a reputable parlor, getting your tattoo cherry busted should be done by pros IMHO. Now this mate of yours can draw, but have you seen photos of tats that he’s done for others? Also ask yourself would I trust this guy to perform surgery on me, because that’s kinda what getting a tattoo is like (in that’s its permanent and that there is a risk of infection).
But then again your boy may be really good, so to the OP, yea its going to hurt a bit, kinda like running a finger nail over a bad sun burn, but nothing unbearable, if its not over ribs it shouldn’t be too bad. And remember these two things he should unwrap every thing in front of you to insure its sterility and not to drink anything to dull the pain ( you’ll bleed more profusely)
PS enjoy the pain! tatoos are fun!

Good luck then, apply lotion like Aquaphore during the healing period in order to keep the tattoo moisturized, also no swimming or tub baths for a week! (Two is better)

Re: Getting my first tattoo-what to expect
I see this turning out badly, but you probably deserve it due to your damn stupidity.
Good Advice: Wait until you can legally get one (16 in the UK not sure about where you are) and get the job done professional. If your friend fucks up it's gunna be fucking costly to get that thing removed.
Thats not even mentioning all the kind of crap you could pick up off unsterilized equipment!!

You're going to regret that. What meaning does it have?
