| Games People Play Games People Play is where to discuss personal computer, video game console, and arcade hardware and software - be it RPG, Sim, Strategy, Fighting, Action/Platform, or any other category. Although discussion of modern platforms/software will most likely dominate, discussion of classic videogame/computer hardware and software is always enjoyable, and certainly welcome - ESPECIALLY since there are public domain/shareware emulators of nearly every older computer/console available these days. Here's a taste of what awaits you: Nintendo-vs-Sega-vs-Sony, Console-vs-PC-vs-Mac, Hardware spec sheets/information, Industry news and discussion, Software reviews, IRC conference announcements/Reports, Emulators, Emulators, Emulators! ... and much, much more! |

CoD5 Beta
So I got a key from one of the various internet friends I have, and went over to a friends house and we got the CoD5 beta. The level cap was 11, and there were only 3 maps. Anyone who doubts this game: Don't. It is purely awesome, not sure how well the vehicles will work out in the end, but it is still a great game. There are four factions:
Russia
Nazi Germany
Japan
and the US.
Russia has the sickle and hammer for a team symbol, nazis proudly wave the swastika around, Japan has the symbol of the rising sun. The US have some sort of symbol for a faction of their army, as far as I can tell. I've not seen it before. The guns seem fairly balanced, there are no sniper rifles, you just put a sniper scope on a normal rifle. Ask any questions you want, and I will try to answer them.

Re: CoD5 Beta
I did not notice any destructible environments. My friend shot at the ground in a tank a few times, nothing happened.
EDIT- I'll answer anything that comes up in the morning, I'm sick and want some sleep.

Re: CoD5 Beta
it would be good to see a game with the allied forces as a whole (mainly Britain) to be featured in a mainstream war game. The US is claiming way too much. should be a good game though

Re: CoD5 Beta
Yes, it seems very solid. It has the exact same engine as CoD4.

No snipers sounds interesting.

Re: CoD5 Beta
Well there are still snipers, they are just bolt action rifles that you put a sniper scope on. So it's like being able to use a sniper accurately with ironsights, without the scope.

Re: CoD5 Beta
Are the 3 maps they released for the demo big? I just remember in COD4 that most of the maps are kinda small.

Re: CoD5 Beta
What are some of the guns? The good ones and the bad ones?
Does it play like cod4 except ww2 skins on everything?
Whats your favorite thing about it?
