Ok I know I sound like a true dumbass when I ask this Q, and dont have any pics, but oh well. So I was at my weed spot, when I saw these bunch (20 or 30) of some ugly ass short brownish grey ugly mofos all under the same tree. Now Ive seen pics of shrooms, and they look pretty similiar. Is there any way to know if they are shrooms, or atleast harmless to eat. any advice would be great. thanks

pick one up and knock it against something and see if it bruises blue, thatll at least narrow it down...

Yes they are shrooms, any mushrooms that grow under a tree and look similar are shrooms. Eat them all, you're safe!

What mushrooms were you looking for? Liberty Caps? Cubes? Wavy Caps?

It'd be impossible for anyone to help you from the description you gave, and still pretty hard without pics. They probably aren't active, and they probably aren't edible.

you gave almost no info, and didnt even say what part of the country your in. my guess is that they arent shrooms.

take a spore print put the gills on a piece of paper in a mason jar.

Were the 20-30 clustered tightly cluster (can fit in a 1' circle) or loosely clustered (3'+)? If it was tightly, theyre definitely safe to eat (provided your description was right) and if they're loose or between the to, I wouldnt risk it.

They are shrooms for sure. As in they are a type of mushroom. I recommend you don't eat them.

I wouldn't take that advice if I were you.
