Do you have a problem with working below your qualifications?

Personally, I quite enjoy it. I like being able to work a job where I can challenge myself in new ways. If it doesn't pay as well as what I'm qualified to do, it makes up for it in other ways. There are always benefits and the learning of a new skill set to keep in mind.

I always hear that people have an issue with working below their qualifications; people seem to consider this a major worry, now that there is a high level of economic uncertainty in the world. It just doesn't strike me as an issue.

The only problem I have is listing my qualifications on a resume prevents me from getting a job I'd be more than willing to do.

If you have to, only list qualifications that you think are relevant to the job.

This.

Also, I lack most qualifications besides a high school diploma.

Question Re: Overqualified

Euda, if you're overqualified for a position...how could it challenge you? I don't want to sound like an asshole, but it sounds like if you have a challenge you aren't over-prepared (qualified) for it, you are unprepared...

The only challenge I could is in a job where you are overqualified is if they but unreasonable time frames on jobs so you are working at an insane rate which leads to frustration of the worker and mistakes to be made.

If you have a degree in finance, basic labour may challenge you. If you have a degree in engineering, working as a waiter may challenge you. If you have a degree in computer science, being a security guard may challenge you.

I'm not talking about being overqualified for a job, simply overqualified.

Sounds more like different skillsets to me.
