Politics: Left, Right, and Center National, state, regional, and local politics. Who's doing what to whom, and what you can do about it. How-to-get-action messages are encouraged. "How the government fucked up my life" stories are encouraged. Sharing new methods for cheating on taxes is encouraged. Sample "letters to congresscritters" are encouraged. Apathy and "I can't do anything" posts are discouraged. Left, right, centrist, or any other form of political-economic systems are all up for discussion. Be prepared to defend yourself, or at least have a good line of bullshit ready. Extensive quoting of economists and philosophers is frowned upon. We want to hear what YOU have to say, not what some constipated, impotent, dead guy dreamt up while suffering from the DT's over a hundred years ago thought.

Default Becoming a Government Page

I wasn't sure where to put this so mods feel free to move.

I recently met with on of the State Representatives of Texas who went to high school with my mom, and he offered me a position as a page. I dont know what it is and what its good for but if anyone knows could you enlighten me?

It's a foot in the door.

You do little things on which they don't want to waste time and paid workers.

It looks good on a resume and helps you make connections with influential people, who can get you better positions, references, etc.

Of course, you might be sodomized by pederast politicians, but it's still a good induction to political life.

It's just like most other internships, where you really do little relevant work, and do mostly menial tasks and shit. But it does look good on a resume, so I would definitely take it.
