sit and pray that the live action akira movie isn't this horrible.
it's amazing how far we've come as a society, where we are at the point that we can only hope that things don't suck too much.

How can it be horrible with Leonardo DiCaprio producing it?
Also, Dragonball: The Magic Begins > this.

Wow am i the only one that actually liked the trailer I don't know but I like to think of it as a spin off of the series and it looks pretty bad ass in my mind it doesn't have to be an exact replica of the series to be good and this looks pretty good for how their trying to make it

I just assumed one of them would still believe in Santa and the other might be the director, or something.
Which one are you Jaystime?

Re: Are you prepared for awesome-ness?
Kind of old news but apparently there's a US version of Deathnote (http://www.crunchyroll.com/forumtopic-241464/American-Death-Note-Movie-Confirmed.html) in talks.
I'd probably go more along the lines of Chace Crawford as a lead over Zac Efron though. I look forward to this more than DB.
"The production notes for the recent horror films Shutter and The Strangers both reveal that America's Vertigo Entertainment is developing a remake of the Death Note franchise and has hired Vlas and Charles Parlapanides to write the screenplay. In Tsugumi Ohba and Takeshi Obata's hit Death Note manga, a teenager finds a notebook with which he can put people to death by writing their names. He begins a self-anointed crusade against the criminals of the world, and a cat-and-mouse game begins with the authorities and one idiosyncratic genius detective.
Vertigo Entertainment (no relation to DC Comics' Vertigo imprint or the United Kingdom's Vertigo Films) has developed or is developing remakes of Ju-on (The Grudge), Dark Water, Infernal Affairs (The Departed), Gin gwai (The Eye), Shutter, My Sassy Girl, Jungdok (Possession), and Janghwa, Hongryeon (The Uninvited). The Parlapanides brothers are writers and executive producers of Undercover, an update of the 21 Jump Street television series which is under development for The CW network.
The Death Note manga has already been adapted into two Japanese live-action films with one spinoff film, an animated television series, assorted television specials, and novels. Viz Media is releasing the manga, the anime series, and a novel, while Viz Pictures released the first Japanese live-action film in theaters in May. "

Isn't the writer of the manga doing the movie as well? hopefully they keep the 80's dystopic lok to it and the CGI doesn't look like shit.

I love Akira way too much to even consider watching a live action movie.
As far as this trailer goes, damn I expected something bad but definately not this bad, this looks terrible.

I liked it as well.
But Dragonball is about a monstrously strong boy with a heart of gold and a soul of earth trying to become stronger.
There is no fuckin way Goku would EVER be anything REMOTELY close to emo. Goku is the complete opposite of emo. He is the anti-emo. If Goku were put in a room with all the emos of the world he would smile and then proceed to put them through a martial arts regimen that would last months and would make them shit blood and then feel good about themselves, building their confidence in life and their being.
Fuck this movie.

I just exited when I saw what Bulma looked like.
Goku I could ALMOST, ALMOST deal with.
Not Bulma.
This is going to be shit, and they've been putting it off for like 10 years too- no excuses.
