Started today:

not much really ever surfaces from this, but this year is suppose to be pretty big.

so far, No More Heroes 2 has been announced. this has been rumoured for a while now, but unexpected so soon.

MGS4 is listed as having some sort of event...for some reason. playable DLC, hopefully. maybe some sort of VR Missions, or Snake's Tales. also, a game titled "Metal Gear Existence" has been floating around for a few weeks now; and if I remember right, it's to be explained at TGS.

I've heard Sony have between 10 - 20 games to announce/show for this event. rumor has it that Team Ico (Ico, Shadow of the colloseous) both will, and will not announce their upcoming 3rd title. who knows? hopefully. it would be really fucking stupid not to...Sony is heavily losing fan interest, due to lack of big upcoming titles. maybe this'll secure them.

on the other hand, some new Halo stuff is suppose to be shown. perhaps the new Halo 3 campaign stuff. I'm realy wondering what this'll be about. hopefully it'll pick up where it left off (stupid request?).

nevertheless, this should all be pretty interesting. theres what? 5 days left...I'll update frequently.

Halo 3 expansion campaign is aimed for next fall. it's a prequel. you don't play as 'Cheif. some unheard of soldier, rather. good enough.

plus currently a 360 BluRay addon is more heavily rumored than ever. considerably confirmed, but will most likely run movies only (as did the HD-DVD add on). estimated $150 - $200.

on a side note (TGS related, or not); Sakura has been confirmed for SFIV.

I thought Bungie said they were done with Halo?

So this wouldn't add for the support of Blu-Ray games? Just movies? Which means it most likely won't sell for shit?

^ Bungie seem to have the Kojima Syndrome with Halo. face it, they're stuck with it. they won't be taken too seriously otherwise. sure, their Halo fanbase will check into whatever they release otherwise, but get pissed because it's not like Halo; and then Halo would probably slip without them, therefore people will be pissed because they're not helping with that much. so forth. much pressure.

think the guy who played Napoleon Dynamite. plus the money is too good.


-- as for the BluRay player. who knows? guessing by the low estimated cost of the drive, it seems M$ may aim to push this onto their devotees by kickin' games out exclusive to their newly supported format, as a damn near mandatory upgrade of sorts. I mean hell...I know plenty of people who've spent up to almost a thousand in console replacements. why not the $150? they're really taking it to an extreme to cash in on where their competitors have them. genuine or not. they've got their own Miis, now. Game installs...they thought they had the future of physical media with HD-DVD, but that torch was quickly passed to BluRay; so what's missing?

there has to be something up their sleeve with this "New Xbox Experience". they're getting ready for bluray, that's what. all of this other shit while authentic, I'm sure -- is diversional. a "We've got it too" sceme.

but all-together, Microsoft may want to watch what they're doing. I know a few people who've decided on getting 360's over PS3's because they were the cheaper console. you have to figure it...IF they were to do what I've speculated as a posibility (and with how they've been lately, a very likely one) -- an Elite + BluRay add-on would rack up to cost as much as a PS3, if not more. so while they may benefit from what little the PS3 is benefiting by right now, they could very well suffer just as much. Sony have really taken a huge fucking sacrifice. it's no news that for whatever console they sell, they lose out approx $250 due to production costs. are MS that willing? I seriously fucking doubt it. but as mimicing as they're being; it would'nt surprise me.

so again; there really is no telling.

That's the point I have been trying to get across since before these two consoles were released. Is that while 360 might be cheaper, at the time, if you add all the upgrades, its going to be more than the PS3. Shit, the elite is already 399.99 USD, the same cost as the PS3 80GB. If you add the Blu-Ray drive to the 360 elite you are looking at possibly 599.99 USD.

Tekken 6 >> 360 is the biggest announcement so far...But who didn't see it coming?

With the development costs getting so insanely high is there even a point to more than one console at this point because everything that's worthwhile has become multiplatform.
