Just to clarify I'm around 6 foot and weigh around 140 pounds. I have social anxiety and I've taken .5 mg for a presentation and I've definitely felt the relaxation from that little. So my friend gave me 20 1 mg ativan pills. I took 4 mg on sunday (sublingual) over a time period of like an hour and a half. I was pretty chilled out, but considering my tolerance from before shouldn't I have blacked out from that much? Did it have to do with the fact that I didn't take it all at once?

Now yesterday I decided to try again. I don't even remember how much I took, but it was around 8 mg. That's a shitload, and I didn't even black out! I'm not saying I wanna black out. I'm just trying to show that I have a huge tolerance for not much of a reason.

I also take ambien, so there's definitely a chance there's a cross tolerance, but I can get fucked up from 5 mg of ambien. Not as much as I used to, but I'll still be feeling something. Did I feel so little because I didn't take them all at once?

The weird thing is I was still feeling the ativan the day after I took 4 mg, and again I still felt it a little bit today. Could I have gotten really fucked up from it and not even realized?

But to my question. I have 4 mg of ativan left. What steps do I have to do to make the most of it? Should I wait a couple weeks for my (maybe imaginary) tolerance to go down? Should I use some potentiators?

Really, wait 1 - 2 weeks. you can pop those, your tolerance won't be gone, but you will have made a big impact on it (if you are in fact taking 3-4 pills a day........)

No the thing is I hardly ever take ativan. The last time I took a decent dose (2.5 mg) was like two years ago. And I might take it everyone couple months or so, but no more than 1 mg. So I have absolutely have no idea where this tolerance came from.

No, it's not like that. Ativan, Klonopin and Xanax all have the same potency. 1 mg of klonopin is just as potent as 1 mg of klonopin. I've taken 1 mg of klonopin and got a little fucked up. In fact I felt more than I feel now and I took 4 mg! Where did this huge tolerance come from?

When talking about benzos in general, Ativan has a relativley short half life, so take that into consideration. It could be explained that you have a slight natural tolerance to benzos, its not unheard of. Next time take them all at once, maybe even try to parachute them.

I don't know about you guys but I've only blacked out from benzos if I drink booze with them (well except for that one time when I didn't know what the fuck I was doing and took a whole strip of bromazepams (slept +24 hours :()).

Also when I take benzos I don't know how fucked up I am till it's too late... Like one minute (you think) you're sober, the next your stumbling around yelling at everyone.

try railing 'em? when i had my lorazepam script, i railed 'em, and the bioavailability is ~80% intranasally, when orally it's around 85-90%. for some reason it would hit me harder, and since they're pretty small i'd guess they'd absorb into your mucous membranes pretty well, plus the drip will just go to your stomach anyways. just dont blow your nose or hock a lougie...

my benzo tolerance is sky high right now, and i've been trying to taper, but it pains me taking drugs and not feeling them. i use cimetidine to make them last longer, and that works damn well, but thats mainly for diazepam and alprazolam (i switched from alp to diaz, i was doing way too much alp and it got to the point where i'd have to take 10-15mg to feel anything).

also, try taking a couple shots with it. don't overdo it, i've had many times where i've chugged 100 proof vodka on benzos and ended up blacking out and passing the fuck out. it really sucks when you wake up at 3:30 am and realize the better part of your experience is gone, and the party is pretty much over.
