Why is it that some junkies...
...inject their drug all the way and then draw out blood to save for later. I always assumed it was to catch a buzz but is this really possible? Kind of like a resin hit, except with blood containing heroin? I get H from a girl who does this and it freaks me out. Then again this girl is definitely not right in the head.

Re: Why is it that some junkies...
I've seen them prepare a shot and put it away - even hide it from themselves - and I've seen them draw back some blood and reinject it. But in all the years I have known junkies I have never seen one put aside a rig of blood.

Re: Why is it that some junkies...
You'd have to withdraw all of your blood to get an equivalent high, and that just seems counterproductive.

Re: Why is it that some junkies...
I could see this working. Having been really big into performace enhancing methods, I almost drew my own blood during a the day then in the middle of a lacrosse game take it back in to give me a boost for the second half. The method seems a little over doing it now but when I had it in my mind that I needed to bigger stronger faster play harder than ever one else, I was willing to do it.
It would work if you stored it in the right way. But why would you unless you wanted to make sure you could have some in your system all the time.

Re: Why is it that some junkies...
Drawing out the blood is just to make sure the needles in a vein, so you don't get a blister. I don't know why anyone would keep it for later though.

Re: Why is it that some junkies...
Your friend must be a vampire, because nobody else does that. As Delerium said, blood is drawn out into the syringe to ensure that the needle is in the vein, but it gets shot straight back in with the dope. Your friend's probably selling it.

I have never heard of anything like that. Blood coagulates rather quickly, which would leave you with a rig of sludge filled blood.

Re: Why is it that some junkies...
That is so fucked up. Yes, your friend must be some type of freaky vampire or something. Without proper storage, using that would most likely kill someone. Not to mention there is so little of any given drug present in any nonlethal withdrawal.
Though, some needle users do a technique, I forget what they call it, but after the drug is injected, a bit of blood is drawn back up, and then immediately shot right back, in an attempt to rinse out any of the left over drug in the syringe barrel.
