Using the end pieces of bread...
So at the place I work we use like 6-8 loaves per day, and no one eats the end pieces (I'll admit, I'm guilty as well as I only like to use bread as a transporter of more tasty foods to my mouth or as a filler), so currently they get thrown away every day.
Now that's a lot of end pieces and seems like an awful lot to waste. I was wondering if there was something tasty and creative I can use them for.
The only idea I had was toasting them, then leaving them out to get hard as a rock, and finally turning them into bread crumbs. Any more ideas?
Thanks in advance.
Oh just had one other question, for French onion soup, do end pieces make good floaty bits?

olive oil and spices and good vinegar, for dipping... cut them into thin slices, lay out on pan, grate mozzeralaa and jack over it, bake a little... eat with borcht... what shape are they? little mountain shaped or flat square shaped?

When I buy a new loaf I always take the end pieces first for a grilled cheese. >_>

Re: Using the end pieces of bread...
THOSE ARE THE BEST PARTS~!
When i get a freshly baked loaf of rye bread, i will cut off the ends first, put some butter or cheese on it and eat away at the warm crunchy goodness. You should feel guilty. I don't know how you manage to live with yourself.

He should feel guilty because the place he works for throws away the ends of bread? That's a little harsh.

Re: Using the end pieces of bread...
Put them in the blender n make breadcrumbs? Stale bread works best... you can then use 'em for... whatever. Making burgers/chicken nuggets/topping to cheesy pasta bakes, little bread cakes with honey or some shit?
I personally quite like a bit of crunch, so i'd dip 'em in humous or peanut butter n munch right down, toasted or not.
