It's Been Awhile, Questions About Poppy Tea
Well, after a long hiatus from totse (BLTC in particular) and most drugs as well, hear I am.. crawling back. Just like we all do.
Anyhow, to those who remember me (which I doubt would be many, alotta new faces around) I was really big into Opiates. They were my thing, my most definite drug of choice, and I've been away from them for several months. I've tried just about every kind of opiate imaginable (Hydrocodon, Oxycodone, Demeral, Diladid, Heroin, Morphine, codeine, fantanyl patches, etc.) except for poppy tea. Weird huh?
So now that I'm getting back into the swing of things, I don't want to just go back to snorting OC's and gobbbling up some pills, so I wanna try making and drinking some poppy tea. I've always heard good things about it, but I was sort of confused at the method. Like,. do you have to specifically buy a certain strain of poppy (somniferum), or are almost all poppies good for poppy tea?
Without breakling any forum rules, I'd just like a good start int the right direction. Like how to prepare, what kind of poppies should I buy, etc. That sort of thing. Thanks
P.S. Meta, I know I'm skirting the line on this one, sorry, I just don't know how to word it any better, and my totse etiquette is rusty.

Re: It's Been Awhile, Questions About Poppy Tea
I'd go on ebay and buy some pods, supposed to have a lot higher alkaloid content then seeds, i think.

Re: It's Been Awhile, Questions About Poppy Tea
Yeah, that's what I was thinking anyhow. But is ebay the place to go for pods? I used to go to iamshaman a lot for kratom and they were really good on that end. I notice there are alot of websites like shaman devoted to mostly poppy pods. I justy don't know which ones are good or not. Anyone with experience in these matters, please let me know.
Also, I've been reading up on the different preperation methods. There a lot of different ones, but I think I could manage the basics. Any advice from anyone with experience with preparation would too, be appreciated.
Thanks

Re: It's Been Awhile, Questions About Poppy Tea
Are you trying to grow your poppies or just buy the pods? If you're just buying them, then go find them on ebay like that guy said. If you're growing them, you need the somniferum seeds, known in culinary circles as "poppy seeds". You can use the supermarket ones if you want, or you can get someone to give you some better ones. Try the folks at www.poppies.org. There's a trading forum there, but you need 30 posts or something to get in. Anyway, if you're going to just use the supermarket ones, which should work OK, get a few pounds of them and scatter them on some freshly excavated dirt (i.e loose, little or nothing growing on it). Plant a few different fields so you don't lose everything when one gets bulldozed. You can do this any time from now until March, but now is better because your seeds will have a head start when Spring rolls around (they won't grow until Spring; they'll overwinter). If you follow those simple directions, you should have a few hundred/thousand plants by the time you're ready to harvest, depending on how hardcore you are. If you're making tea, cut your pods (with the stems) when they turn hard and bluish and then dry 'em. If you're making opium, score them seven days after the petals drop, and continue doing that for as long as they leak white stuff. I'd grow them if I were you. It's way cheap. That whole operation will cost you $20.
EDIT: and yes, ebay is the way to go for pods. Don't dare go to IAS. In fact, you should never go there again.
EDIT2: As for preparation, grind up your pods with a coffee grinder and make tea like you normally would, but steep for ~30 min.

Re: It's Been Awhile, Questions About Poppy Tea
Thanks madfast, a lot of good shit to know. Yeah, I've been checking out the pod sites compared to ebay and it rediculous price wise. IAS is getting fucking crazy too (I hadn't been there in awhile) They have 30 million kinds of "Super Potent, 100x extract Xtra" bull shit. It's just fuckin Kratom. Anyhow, thanks for all the advise Madfast. I was just initially thinking of buying the pods, but hell, I might try to grow some once I try the tea out and figure out whether it's worth it or not to grow. Also one more thing, how many pods (or oz.s of pods) would you reccomend? Now, "theoretically" I should have no tolerance since I've been off heavy opiate use for awhile (7-8 months). But I must have some "lingering tolerance" because about a month ago I had to take 30 mg xy to feel a nice high. Thanks for your help man.
And I'm not forgetting about you stupid n00b, thanks for your rather blunt advise. No, you know I'm no n00b. Chalk it up to laziness, forgetfulnesss, or being to busy to to go trawling through old posts to find your poppy manifesto post. Whatever suits you. But I will look for it though, thanks for bringing up that you had such a post.

Re: It's Been Awhile, Questions About Poppy Tea
Glad to help
There's no blanket dose. They're like mushrooms in that way. The only way to find your dose is trial and error, because pods aren't all the same potency. If you have pretty big pods, like golfballs or bigger, start with 4-6 and work from there. If you buy them from ebay, get the big ones. Look for Giganthemums. Try the ones from ebay and grow them if you like them. They really are easy, and it's fun to scout out good spots to sow and watch them grow. I keep a bag of seeds in my car in case I see a good place when I'm out and about.
