Year 12 Formal (prom for americans)
http://fanchaos.com/fanplusfriend/c1/DR00070_05.jpg
Is this suitable for the formal? For year 10, most turned up in this sort of stuffhttp://www.therosedress.com/dresses/...sses-gowns.jpg and I personally hate it, but there's still a dress code, also the one of the vineyards so opinions?

Holy shit yes wear it.
I'm 99.9% sure that you'll be allowed and the only reason I have that 0.1% is to save my ass in the event of a huuuge fuck up.
How much is it?

$180 plus shipping. No, I'm not fat. Would get a US 6 but it doesn't let you have boobs/breath.

Girls in tight dresses don't need to breathe. They have gills or something.

Well you could wear black ones with crosses on them to match the dress, but if I was wearing that then I'd go all black.

Clear heels = Stripper shoe.

Clear heels = Stripper shoe.
Chris Rock is right, avoid clear heels like the plague.
any kind of black opaque heeled shoes/ boots would go well though.

I'm guessing everyone here is male. Heals are painful and should not be worn.

I'm male and have walked in heels enough to know that the pain is worth it.

Re: Year 12 Formal (prom for americans)
Get a nice pair of lacy tights. They might cost you some serious cash but they'll be worth it.
And only $160? Odds are the dress will be of really shitty quality. I'm willing to bet it'll be mostly spandex.
If you are going to go in that direction do it right. Don't get it off the internet, get it from somewhere you can try it on and feel it before buying it.

I am going to the shop to buy it. They just post after they do alterations. Also, already got lace tights for school occasionally. Surprisingly cheap.

Sexy, i say go for it.
Every year people push the limits with shit and it usually ends with you getting let in. its you last year of school and nobody really wants to ruin one of the few good social things about it.

Re: Year 12 Formal (prom for americans)
It looks perfectly fine.
For the 1860s.
Dresses are one place where looking like everyone else is good. All the girls wear pretty things, why would you wear something that odd just to stick out?
I'm sure you can pull of a sexy dress and just be remembered as the hottest girl there, rather than the one who came to prom dressed in that and combat boots?

I went to the junior formal in combat boots and everyone seemed to think it was a good idea. I was the only one wearing shoes by the end of the night. Also, I'm not doing long sleeves as it's ridiculously hot here and I set them alight last time and floor length skirts are just messy. Add in I'm a ginger and black seems to be the best bet which leads to goth.

There is no way you can pull off that dress without heels. There isn't a single pair of flats that goes with a dress like that and it would just look stupid as hell.

that dress looks really poxy and the real thing will probably be worse.
and with the amount of plastic that thing looks like it has in it, you will be sweating like a pedophile in a preschool.

I wholly support you wanting to go for something different at your formal, but maybe you could translate to the "different" into something a little more classy/flattering?
