I'm pretty keen to install the Linux OS
From all the threads here, I've heard that Linux is a good OS, and I am pretty interested in it. I'm a bit concerned though, I've heard that Linux hampers my freedom to play DRM content if I use it; is this true? I've also heard that Linux cannot play modern games?
Thanks.

Re: I'm pretty keen to install the Linux OS
Linux can do anything you can write a library for. That'd be pretty difficult for a beginner, so I suggest you install a Gnu/Linux distro, so you'll get more than just a kernel.
Also, don't be cute with that "freedom to play DRM'd files". DRM is not freedom. You do not have any freedom with DRM. As freedom is an inherent right of humans, you can't give up your freedom; so you can't choose to accept DRM.
I'm sure a lot of people in NS&H (myself included) will help you strip off the DRM and put it in a better format, though.
And yes, Gnu/Linux cannot run windows programs. This includes games. If you're willing to sacrifice your freedom to play a game, then look into Wine or Cedega. You won't be able to get the highest framerate in Krysys, but you'll be able to play it.
What I advise is downloading a gNewSense liveCD and booting off of it. If it doesn't work with your hardware, then install Ubuntu.
Good luck!

Re: I'm pretty keen to install the Linux OS
I have made up my mind, but a few weeks ago, I ordered the Linux OS "Ubuntu" and it arrived this morning.
How do I install stuff on this Ubuntu Linux? Is there an installation file like Windows' .exe?

There's none of that bullshit. All the apps you need are in the Ubuntu repositories; you can check them out with gnome-app-install/Add/remove Programs (Applications>Add/Remove Programs) or Synaptic (System>Administration>Synaptic Package Manager).
Synaptic is more powerful than gnome-app-install; it can do any type of apt action (man apt-get for more info) and displays all packages, GUI programs, command line programs, libraries, documentation, and other things.
Just search for what you need, then tick the box and hit install.
(I'm not going to dignify 13-year-old-4chan-goer-type messages with anything other than this response of "I'm not going to dignify that with a response".)
