Default Fixing the scale

I did too many psychedelic drugs (salvia, shrooms, acid) and now I see life from what I can only describe a third person perspective...Can't really put it into words, but sort of like I was inside a big box, I could see the inside walls and out the window and so on, and I've now switched to the view of a person outside, I can see the outside of the box as well as a the inside of the box like I could before I did the drugs. Another way I can think of to describe it is before the scale was out of /10 and now its out of /15, but I'm at still at 10.The views overlay and the old view is most prominent, but when I think about the "full" view I tend to get depressed and nothing seems to matter. This can last anywhere from a few seconds to days at a time.

Is there any way to fix myself? I've considered the possibly that more psych use might fix this, but at the same time I'm worried it might make it worse. Anyone have any experience with this?

Take a long break from psychedelics thats probably your best bet. Whatever psychedelics can do can be reversed with sobriety. Unless they permanently altered your view of reality, if thats the case I'd recommend you just adopt some philosophies which make you operate to your full potential in everyday life even though you know nothing matters and all this mundane bullshit is pointless.

I haven't done psychedelics in a long time and I seem to have shifted back into the mundane, normal mindset. I thought my outlook on life was permanently altered from doing psychedelics but obviously it wasn't. Its just a matter of being sober long enough and your mindset will become that of a sober man.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Depersonalization

Had this happen after doing salvia..... ughh...

It will pass.
Ground yourself back to the world, find something to connect your emotions that is physical and of this world and you will slowly get better.

You should read Distress by Greg Egan.
It takes a fcucking LONG while to get to the point, but its pretty fucking worth it in the end.

Its a sciencefiction and is about a guy who (at the very end of the book) figures out how the entire universe is built up and shit like and that nothing matters and that logically it must collapse into itself.
But then he realizes that the theory cant explain other minds.
And that in the end other people is like the salvation or something like that.

I butcher it, but he conveys it really, really well.
Read like the last chapter of the book, I think it would help.

i ate a bunch of psychies last year. Ive refrained from everything except weed and pills and i can say that the depersonalization will go away but it takes time its been over a year since i last dropped some death. and i can say my mood and attitude towards everyday life is slowly coming back together. just give it time.

damn i thought i was the only one who felt like this until totse, now i see there are alot of people like me.

anyways OP, I think the best thing you can do is stay away from drugs for a while... i took a 3 week break from smoking weed and im getting a little better, i think your symptoms are a little worse than mine.... but my symptoms were really bad a couple months ago. Over time if you cut back on the drugs im sure you'll get better.

I had this for about a week after the first time I really got high.

Just take a break from it, wait a couple weeks. Everything should get back to normal.

im not trying to diss or anything.. you might've felt unattached to the world or whatever but when your fuckin with acid, shrooms, e, dmt, mescaline, etc etc it can really fuck with your head soooo much worse than weed can.

no shit...the two are not the same...

To the OP, take a nice long break from every drug, don't smoke pot or anything. I had this happen to me after doing LSD or X 3 weekends in a row, I figure my mind had had enough. It finally started going away after about a month, you'll probably end up a better person when its over, just stick it out. I'm still dealing with some of the effects and haven't touched a psychedelic since, but that was my decision.

Good luck.

This.

Except in my case it's not due to any drugs, mainly just due to some very deep 'meditative' times of thought in my mind when I was sleep deprived and travelling, where I just thought about where and who I was, thinking about death etc but fighting my ego away ..
It's way more than that but it's just very hard to explain how it came about, but I have had some pretty intense emotional/psychological experiences in the last half year or so ..

Best medicine: Socializing with other people.

He makes a really good point. Think about who you are. How much control do you have over what you have done with your life? It's almost all the result of socialization and the deep rooted lies that you consider to be "normality". If everyone in your tribe had a similar perception you wouldn't consider it abnormal. Psychedelic experience loosens screws of perception a little bit for sure. Think about this 15 second television ads have actually proven effective in controling peoples buying habits with one viewing! think about what 15 hours of tripping your balls off and realizing everything you ever thought was anything is nothing will do to your views on reality.
