I feel like getting high by a lake next to a friend's house and I'd rather smoke there instead of at my house or his. My pipe was stolen so all I have is a waterfall bong I made out of a 2-liter bottle. Could I use the lake water in my waterfall without it tasting like complete shit? It's not like "next to an industrial plant" polluted but I'm sure it's not exactly clean. Thanks in advance to anyone who can help.

As for the lake itself, if it's had no outlet for the past ___-hundred years, or hosts some freaky anaerobic bacteria, you're fucked. Then again? You'd know this, because nobody would be living within a thousand miles of it due to the toxic and nauseatingly-enstenched gases emanating from the thing.

Flavor-wise, if you can stand next to the lake without the urge to retch and flee, it'll work fine as an air filter.

Microbiology-wise, there's no easy way to know if it's contaminated and will cause you to die of the shits. Don't drink the crap, and if you do, boil it to hell and back first.

Boiling to hell and back would also reduce aroma in an unoccupied stench-pond by driving off dissolved gases, as well. Have a nice day.

^^boiling will kill most microorganisms but not endospores. endospores survive heat, disinfectants, acids, alcohols of which i've studied some clostridium stains in microbio which can cause tetanus, botulism, or gas gangrene.

good news is though gram stain is positive so it's treatable with penicillin. G+ just means it has a thick peptidoglycan layer that can be attacked with penicillin.

honestly I don't think there's anything too bad in your lake or whatever, only 1% of all microorganisms are harmful to humans, but think of all the other shit in the lake. Fish eat, shit, piss and fuck in that lake and who knows what the fuck else is in that lake, yeah?

Just inhale gently, you won't get any water vapor that way.

A waterfall is a 2 or in my case a 3 liter bottle with a 3/4 inch or so socket pushed through the cap with tinfoil as a bowl pushed into the open end of the socket and punctured with a needle and a small cigarette-sized or slightly bigger hole at the bottom of the bottle.

You plug the hole with your thumb, fill the bottle up, put the bowl (with weed pre-packed into it before filling the bottle), and then you simultaneously spark your lighter up and let the water go out the hole at the bottom.

As the water drains it creates suction and pulls air through the cap, which just happens to have a shit load of smoke billowing out of it, so it all gets vacuumed into the bottle. Once the water runs out, you unscrew the cap and start inhaling hard and deep (its fucking harsh, because its unfiltered, almost compressed smoke).

Pros to this method are 1.) You're insuring that (if you build it right) you're going to burn everything in the weed down to its basic white almost weightless ash. If your weed is black, you are wasting weed. 2.) Its semi-portable if you always hang out near water. 3.) It compresses all the smoke into the bottle, so you aren't wasting any to the open air, where it is effectively wasted, especially if you cap the bottle with your hand and plug the hole with your thumb between hits.

Cons to this method are 1.) Its harsh as hell if you aren't used to the art of inhaling from a bottle. Theres no resistance, like say with a pipe or a bong, its like inhaling hot and harsh air straight to your lungs almost effortlessly, but its harsh... 2.) You gotta be around a source of water, or buy a full bottle (not carbonated, like soda)and stab it at the bottom. 3.) Bottles last 2 weeks tops before you gotta replace them. Once you can't see through it, you gotta replace it, because you really can't clean them out.

One added benefit though is that for some reason, your socket will absolutely cake up with awesome sticky gooey resin, not like pipe resin which is hard, nasty and crackly... so if you smoke like an ounce or two through your waterfall and then scrape it with a stiff paper clip, you'll have some awesomely potent resin that you can just load into the bowl and load it back into the waterfall and smoke it all up again. I've had a 3-gram ball of resin in a waterfall, and it just fucking floored me.
