I've heard so many different people have so many different views on the idea of bisexuality- that they're gays in denial, or over-sexed sluts, or that they're attention whores, they're going through a phase, or that it's a totally legitimate sexual orientation. I have a good friend who says she is bisexual and has dates both guys and girls, and is so sure about her sexual orientation that she's planning to get 'love knows no gender' tattooed on her hip (which I think is a terrible decision). My boyfriend today shocked me by saying that he doesn't find bisexuality attractive in females at all because he claims that bisexuals are sluttier than straight people and more likely to spread diseases. Personally, I don't really have a concrete opinion about the whole idea of being bisexual, but I do know that I am sexually attracted to girls just as much, if not more, than I am guys. But this thread isn't about my sexual orientation, because I honestly don't care enough to label my preferences.

I guess what this thread is really about is your views on bisexuality. Do you think that it's possible for someone to be genuinely attracted to both genders, or do you feel that it's a phase some people experience, a way of getting attention, or a sign that someone is so slutty and horny that they'll hump anything that moves? I've heard some people say that all humans are inherently attracted to both sexes; does that sound like it could hold some truth? I'm just interested in getting an idea of how people feel about bisexuality, whether or not it's generally seen as legitimate, or if it's doubted and looked down upon.

My ex girlfriend is, she just kind of goes on little pulling sessions with girls but goes relationships with lads more it seems.

Anyway each to his own doesn't affect me so it's gravy in my opinion.

I don't see why it isn't legitimate. Of course every human can find beauty in either sex, it just depends on whether you would also want to touch/kiss/etc people of either sex. It's all a matter of degrees.

I think bisexuality is as legitimate as homo/heterosexuality. Hell, I'm probably halfway to bi myself. I can (and do) look at guys and girls alike and gauge their attractiveness. I don't fantasize about men at all though and I don't ever see myself 'experimenting'.

I'm just saying, there's an entire spectrum of sexual preferences and people should be less concerned with labels and enjoy what feels natural.

And in my opinion, EVERYONE is born bisexual. We just naturally wanna fuck both genders. Then society teaches us that it is wrong, and girls can only fuck guys and guys can only fuck girls and anything other than that is evil. Some people respond to this by being homophobes who can't come to terms with their own sexuality, others take it the opposite way and become totally gay. I don't really know why, I am not a psychologist. I just believe there isn't any specific part of the brain that determines what sex we wanna fuck, just a general drive to reproduce and have sex.

I am not really bisexual... at all. But I still believe in my theory. I just think that since I was a kid the thought of fucking a man has been engraved in my mind as unacceptable. Just like how old racists will never change, they will always be racist cuz its how they were raised. Same shit here. I am generally repulsed by the thought of gay man sex, but I think were all bi at birth.

lol thats one theory, or perhaps society is becoming more acceptive of the unique. Ie, a few decades ago gays were constantly harassed and ostracized by society, which would deter people from accepting their own sexual orientation (which would create more homophobes) and make it unlikely any bisexual people would come out of the closet.

In my opinion, I don't believe that we have a sexual orientation. I think we simply function off biological triggers in our brains that are responsive to environmental stimulus. Whatever benefits us is what we go for at that time. People can be triggered more often for straight or gay behavior, or anything in between. Levels of estrogen and testosterone probably play a huge role in how we act.

Places like prison, men or women seem to adapt into sexual roles based off many things, usually dominance. Dominant men will play the man's role, and more feminine guys play the woman's role. If they are equal, they might play both roles. For women in prison, it's the same thing.

I feel all of this is adaptation in the human species do to varying levels and disparities between men and women in tribes. Then again, some people just like to get off and are open-minded to all possibilities of doing so. I guess that's what makes human sexuality so fascinating.
