For everyone that likes money....
And I know you all do! Now is the time to buy. The market is at an all time low and if you have some money to invest now is the time to do so. Glad im young enough and can get into everything early.

Re: For everyone that likes money....
What are you planning on investing in? What industries to be more specific.
I'm going to wait a little while before I invest more money into the world right now. Although if the US dollar inflates my money would be safe(r) in the market. Maybe foreign markets (brasil?)

Re: For everyone that likes money....
Due to the expected lowered energy demand oil and energy stock prices have dropped; I'll probably pick some up during this temporary lull and wait for the price of a gallon of gas to reach $4.00 or more and then sell out.

Re: For everyone that likes money....
Well, right now im doing a bit of research. Your best bet would be to take a company that has done well in the past and has a decent future ahead of them. One might be apple. The price has jumped down close to $80. Now you may think its not that stable but it is one that has a lot of potential.

What about Ford or GMC? I know they're both in a lot of trouble at the moment, but it seems that they're both doing well in other countries, and when they start to use newer more energy efficient technology, they should be able to bounce back. I mean, it's ridiculous, Ford is at $4 a share, they can't go bankrupt... It's too big of a company. I think I might look into GMC in the near future, it's too early to tell if these companies will go bankrupt or not.

Re: For everyone that likes money....
Something about ford... Its going to take awhile but it will be a good company for the long run. I had some money invested in ford when it hit $5 but it started going down and I sold when it got back up around $5.
Your right in the aspect of them never going bankrupt. It has too much of an American figure. If something eventually happened to it, there would be people bailing it out. As for when it will come back up, after this whole oil mess is over and all the major oil companies have their money pulled out of it I think it will start to climb back up.

Re: For everyone that likes money....
I don't think Ford is popular around the globe. It's definitely losing market share in Australia, which is strange considering they sell decent cars.
The thing is share price has no direct relationship to a company going bankrupt. A changing share price doesn't change a company's balance sheet. However, it is determined by speculators who try to make accurate predictions.
Depending on where you are (USA, but not Australia) property may be a good investment.
Now is the right time to switch over to Georgism.

They're down to $2.92 today. They just keep falling. It's ridiculous, I'm glad I didn't throw any money away.

Re: For everyone that likes money....
I bought 2 shares of Apple in mid-2007 when it about $133, watched it balloon to over 200, and now it sucks at (consults tradeking), at 89.16. I'm hoping it goes back up, which it will, because I've lost a bit of money on that one. I also bought 15 shares of Sirius back then at 3.11, but it's at .48 right now, so I've lost some on that as well. Why would I buy just a few shares and let them sit like that, you wonder? I just wanted to say I own some stock (it was my new year's resolution at the time). I'm not putting any more money into the stock market right now though, even though it's a great time to buy, because you really can't tell what's going to happen right now.
It is true that many retailers rely on the Christmas shopping season to actually come into the black, but people are predicting that it's not going to be nearly as good as it usually is. Consumers just don't have the spending ability right now.

Re: For everyone that likes money....
Mid to late sep last year was the market peak for alot of companies.
Ive thrown some money in emerging speculative stocks before and your lucky if it makes %10 over 2 years - on the other hand sometimes they can explode overnight if they make some sort of breakthrough.
Follow the money.
Apple are innovators, but they've hit market saturation with ipod/iphone and i cant really imagine any new products just newer features and shit coming out.

Re: For everyone that likes money....
I'm considering buying up some of SPDR (SPY), an S&P 500 index fund as a long term investment.
It's dropped about 30 bucks in the past month but hopefully in 5 years it will be back up to even higher levels.
I'm just waiting to see exactly how low the market is going to go first, maybe buy after the first 1 or 2 days it goes up.
