Hydro and Fish?
I had heard of using fish in a reservoir system for fertilizer (12 galllon tub w/ top and 4 plants sitting on the top) The roots sitting in the water with bubbles keeping them happy. I was wondering sense the top covers the reservoir and roots, would having fish in the reservoir be in anyway be beneficial. So if anyone has any relevant or constructive input about this, please reply.
Peace

Re: Hydro and Fish?
are there nutrients in fish shit? if not then no it probably won't benefit the plant. granted i've never grown so this is common sense speaking. no one has EVER tried this so my answer is as good as anyones. seems like a hassle. would be cool though.

Re: Hydro and Fish?
It's a form of aquaponics. A lot of people say the best bud they've smoked was grown this way. If you've got something to eat the algae and crap off the roots like those pest snails that breed super fast, that would help too cause they don't harm the roots. I read about it on some site.
Normally people want to keep light out, but if you've got those snails, according to one person light is actually good.

Re: Hydro and Fish?
If you did want to keep light out, blind cave tetra have the same pH and temperature requirements as weed plants and they don't need any light.....
