Hard Cider
because it isn't always physically wise for me to drink beer (i'm allergic to the hops or wheat or something) i spent a lot of time looking for an alcoholic beverage that i could drink with all of my beer drinking chums...
lately i just discovered hard cider. it's pretty good, not as sweet and bitch as other low-percentage alcoholic drink but still taste good and can get you nicely buzzed. for the most part i've been pretty fond of woodchuck & was wondering if there were any other brands out there that you all knew of that were better/stronger... or really anything else you can along side someone who is drinking a beer?

Re: Hard Cider
Skip the Woodchuck, too sweet. Get Strongbow, Bulmer's, Magner's, or something of the like. Costs as much as a six-pack of any decent bottled brew, sometimes slightly less, very tasty.
Samuel Smith's also has a great organic cider, but at $4.59 per bottled pint at the local liquor store I don't always purchase so many.

Re: Hard Cider
Cider is a great drink, mix it half and half with Guinness if you can.

Re: Hard Cider
A girl in a few of my classes is allergic to that stuff; she was just messed up from it the other day.
Is cider easily available there? It isn't very common here.

Re: Hard Cider
Go to a REAL liquor/wine/beer store, and ask there. Ciders are becoming as varied, as well respected, and as good as the best craft beers out there, theres bound to be something you like!

Re: Hard Cider
Brothers pair cider is the tits, it just goes down so easily unlike most white ciders, strongbows also pretty good
theres an amazing selection in most super markets in eastern england lol, the liquor stores usually only stock a couple of main brands (blackthorn, strongbow, scrumpy jack etc)

Re: Hard Cider
There's a lot of brewers that make gluten free beers, if that's the cause of your allergy.

Re: Hard Cider
Who the fuck can actually recommend Strongbow with a straight face?
Magners all the way or Jacques/Koppaberg for a fruity number.
Unless, of course, you're on a budget.
