 New Ink [Off Topic]
Yes this is off topic, and by now you should all know that mods can post off topic if we wish. So don't bother bitching about it. I will delete any posts - and perhaps even infract/ban - should you post a bitch about this.
Anyway: My Bday is tomorrow and one gift was to have the two tats on my left arm re-inked - they are 20 years old, and one was done by a homemade gun, so they have started to fade big time.
So she paid to have them redone. The guy was fucking great. They look better than they originally did.
The first one is the logo from the band Iron Butterfly. The other is the violin playing skeleton from the Dead's Blues for Allah album [no, it's not Eddie].

Have fun, looking like a colorful rainbow.
Colorful tattoos are all gay and dandy, if you are into that kind of thing.
But a the faded tattoo doesn't look too bad either. No need to have them retouched in such a bright and queer manner like that. Particularly disturbing, is the varying gradient of the butterfly wings... its almost "printer" like, rather then a solid tattoo of a straight man.

Not bad dude. The colors could have been chosen a bit more wisely on the..whatever that is above the skeleton.
My next tat is going to be a full back piece involving a man with visible third eye and nerves all over his body who is "transformed" into the tree of life (in a sense) a la the end of the Parabola video by Tool. It's really hard to explain but I can't fuckin wait.

Well, it's backwards, and the eyes are red instead of being sunglasses. Still pretty cool looking though, but I would have personally gone with the skull logo from Steal your Face.

Fuck, now i kinda want to get tattooed, but i'm heaps paranoid about getting work done and regretting it, and i wouldn't wanna go to an artist who was anything less than awesome.

Well I don't know how much you know about tats, but what you see in the pic is brighter than it will be soon. The bright colors are the scabs that form when you get a tat.

i find it quite the coincidence that not only is this the week of birthday's [mine's this week too], but i've been kicking around my dragon tat idea for some time [and a birthday's always a good excuse for ink]...
the color stands out in a good way. gives hope that you can save complex designs.
