Well, almost free. You get the name and phone number of a person that lives in your area. You walk into a video rental store, and choose several video games, a few new movies and walk to the front desk. You give the cashier that persons name and phone number, all they ever ask for (around here at least). You pay a nominal fee, 10x or so less than if you'd bought the games and movies. You then walk out, and never return. The person who's identity you borrowed is left with the bill, and no one knows what exactly happened.

Most people have accounts at more than one movie store in the area. If you give the name & number and they don't have an account there, then you apologize, say you'll be back later to set up your account and continue on. Movies are $3-5, games are $5-9. A bit better than paying $50-70 for a game from the store, is it not?

I'm pretty sure you need a photo ID for rental places nowadays..and if it's some place like Blockbuster a credit card as well (if you're planning on renting games).

I'm not talking about SETTING UP an account. I'm talking about using a persons PREEXISTING account. Where I live, movie stores don't require ID to rent a movie, just name and ph#.


Video Express (Canada) you don't need any ID, as I said before, just ph# and name. This isn't common?

Not for the states man. I can't speak for canada. If you don't need an ID and such and the clerks don't actually know the people with the accounts I supposed it'd work.

Hey if you need some info. Hover around the counter like your texting on your phone or something while someone is giving their info. Get it down, and use it later like a week or two later.

The "mom and pop" video stores are ALL GONE near me..........and the last one i have an account for asks me for ID -because on my damn account is my debit card...and Im sure the video store wouldnt want to me sue them if someone came in pre-tending to be me.....
