Judging the quality of MDMA by looks, colour etc...
That's right, I spelled colour with a U! :P
I've got a gram of MDMA from an online source. It's crystalline rather than powder, and a sandy sort of pale yellow, the larger crystals are browner.
Is there any way of judging the quality just from this? Crystals are much less likely to be adulterated than powder, right?

I've seen crystal MDMA before. There were some very pale yellow spots and a few brown looking crevices in the crystal that looked like a quartz crystal. It should burn your mouth and nose on contact. Props on finding a good source if it works well. Get a Marquis test kit from Stupid Noob if you're really interested.

The colour is right (it can normally be off-white, yellow, brown and I've seen pinkish stuff before), and when you buy MDMA rather than pills you ought to get crystals. Although it doesn't mean it necessarily is MDMA, lots of things could fit that description.

The smell of black liquorice is not a good sign of purity - usually if it smells like that it means that it has not been purified correctly somewhere along the production line.
Don't hold me to it, but I think the presence of sassafras oil, usually from safrole, creates the smell fore mentioned.
The best purity MDMA i've personally had has been light pink in colour, but over the years I've had it ranging from deep purple, bright pink, red, dark brown, light brown, transparent and white.
Also had black mandy, which is somewhat infamous in this part of the UK for being mixed in with black powder, in order to cut the into the blood stream quicker.

Several methods can be applied at home for literally nothing cost wise.
Gonna need a test kit, or rather several test reagents to do it right though, I only sell two major reagents at the moment, but will soon be expanding to include several more, as well as DIY chromatography kits.

very true.. unfortunatly there is an incredible amount of the un-purified form going around, I for one have never been able to find true 100% mdma.. His product sounds kind of shitty. The scent is still kind of an indicator because even a tiny amount of safrole can make an entire batch of "pure" mdma smell quite a bit, which happens quite often..

The purity here ranges from horrible stuff to near 80% or so, I think its very hard to ever find 100% pure mdma.
Although i've always wondered if a re-evap or a similar process could be applied to street stuff in order to purify....then repeat and repeat until complete purity is achieved.
Its a shitter when you get MDA or a chem similar to MDMA rather than the stuff itself. MDA made my brain hurt.

I might as well round this thread off. Me and my mates went to a good club on Sat and took 200mg each, 100mg at first, then a 50mg 2 hours later and another 50mg another 2 hours later. It was very good but I was expecting a bit more. I had quite a lot of trouble sleeping, but i was sleeping in a sleeping bag on the floor.
