or 800 mg ibuprofin. Also Ive heard of a product called fiorinal which is supposed to be otc but contains codeine is this possible? and if so is it only restricted to certain states in its otc form?

Re: toothache medication question
I personally don't know of anywhere in the states you can get Codeine OTC...you may be able to but I'm not aware of it.
What type of Toothache is it? Is it a cavity or an impacted molar or what?
I'd say Ibuprofin regardless of what type it is. It usually seems to be a far better pain reliever and it isn't as bad for you as APAP if you've got to take more. It also works as an anti-inflammatory.

Re: toothache medication question
Take the ibuprofen. If its a really bad toothache (such as when I got my wretched wisdom teeth ripped out of my pretty little jaw) then I would recommend bitching and moaning until proper pain medication is administered...

Re: toothache medication question
Thanks for the answers. Its a molar cavity that I think is getting infected. I had my wisdom teeth taken out when I was in Prison and they gave me tylenol 3 for it. But I don't have insurance so that means no dental care out here in the real world. It's fucked up that inmates get better care than someone whose poor and free.
so Ibuprofen it is thanks again

Re: toothache medication question
It is fucked up. You could call around for a dentists office that bills you instead of expects cash up front. You may find one that takes only a small amount of it up front as well..maybe 50-100 bucks for the removal of the tooth and a script for some pain meds.

Re: toothache medication question
There is a natural analgesic effect in Oil of Cloves.
Dentists use it to numb the pain of dry sockets, which have been compared to childbirth in terms of pain.
You can get it - usually - at places like longs; if not that natural food stores for sure.

I've had a couple of these due to smoking pot/cigs after getting a tooth pulled and if it's compared to child birth women are being overly dramatic. All it did for me was give me a legit reason to ask for more pain meds. It wasn't comfortable in any sense of the word and was quite painful..but childbirth? Damn.

Re: toothache medication question
Cocaine could numb that pain. They made toothache drops out of it before they made it illegal.

Re: toothache medication question

Technically, anaesthetic, and topical-only.
It's also true of the other essential protoamphetamines... eugenol is just the only one that won't be likely to cause strange hallucinations and such. Which makes it a better anaesthetic, at least.
It's fucked up that inmates get better care than someone whose poor and free.
Well, nigga - in prison, "teh man" keeps you (in theory) from getting your hands on things like eugenol, lactucin, salycilic acid, poppy pod tea and/or alkaloidal extract, coca leaf, and just plain heroin and cocaine off the street.
On the outside, they don't... which means that the only reason that a five-rock of hard dissolved in pure eugenol isn't being brushed ever so luxuriantly on that aching nerve is... because you're a lazy putz. :p
Now you know why. Half the time, I'd prefer the free-world self-coverage.
The other half I would not... but hey - you could always just punch a cop and then complain about your dental problems once inside.

Re: toothache medication question
What dude above me said; it's not that difficult.
And there's no codeine in it, usually, unless it's specifically a codeine formulation, which does exist. Regular Fiorinal/Fioricet has butalbital, but that's about it, aside from your regular run-of-the-mill analgesics.
And yeah, butalbital is a barbiturate, but good luck trying to get high off of it.
