Smoking fresh pot without curing
Hello,
I have some fresh pot. I picked it off the plant today. I want to try it, but do not want to go through the 2-6 week waiting/drying process to do so. Is there a way for me to sample it as is? I know if I rolled a jay with it, it prolly wouldn't light or burn unevenly or just plain go out ever puff. However, I was thinking about mixing it in with some tobacco, Euro-style. Will this work and will it produce the intended result? Thanks.

Ok, I'll open up to the idea of nuking the suckers. Can anyone recommend a setting and time, and don't fuckin say "just push 'popcorn'".

Re: Smoking fresh pot without curing
I really wouldn't nuke them dude. You'd be better off setting the oven on the lowest possible setting and letting it sit there for around 10 mins..and that's if you can't be patient.
Another option would be using the Lamp idea or setting a small amount on the window sill.

yeah i say the oven. unlike shrooms thc won't breakdown with heat, so i'm sure you can crank it up a little higher than the min. setting.

That's really all a matter of preference. Isn't nothing wrong with mixing it with tobacco if that's what you're in to.

Alright, thanks. I'm gonna go down to the store, buy a pack of smokes, and give this a try with some papers. Thanks ya'll. And no, I do not prefer to smoke with tobacco, but I'm pressed for time and want to get high ASAP. Desperate times call for desperate measures. Wish me luck. I'll let ya'll know how it goes.

I can tell you how it goes now.... (as an experienced "euro roller")
The spliff will canoe and quickly burn all of the side which has baccy on it while leaving the wet weed basically intact. e.g it wont work. just grind it up and dry it on top of a lamp or something. any heat source will do.
Oh and if you arent a tobacco smoker normally... You're going to feel really fucking sick :p

Not necessarily. I don't smoke and take a tobacco filled joint fine. Man, now I really want one. No one around here rolls "euro-style".

A whole one, especially rolling tobacco, is more often than not gonna make a non-tobacco smoker feel rough...Sure, not all the time though.

Re: Smoking fresh pot without curing
I'm a Euro-roller I guess. I smoke weed and tobacco together all the time. I only ever smoke weed on its own through a bong or in a blunt. In fact, I like quite a lot of tobacco in my spliffs.

Just put like 5 grams in a paper bag, and it will dry in no time.

You can smoke it as is as well, it'll be quite harsh and whatever, but you'll still get high.

Re: Smoking fresh pot without curing
Ok, i work in a kitchen and have to cure alot of herbs on the line quick. pour a buncha salt on a plate, break the weed up a bit to increase the surface area so it dries quicker using less heat. place weed in a smaller dish ontop of the salt. nuke 10 sec at a time stirring the weed around and letting it cool a bitch before nuking for another 10 sec. this method desiccates it real quick and ive done it for all kinds of food and herbs at work in a pinch.
i cant speak to how this effects the canibinoid oxidation and conversion to other 'noids.

Whenever possible, it's a good idea to avoid microwaving weed. It's fine with real herbs (basil, parsely etc) 'cause the active ingredient doesn't vaporize like THC.

Re: Smoking fresh pot without curing
One time a friend of mine just gave me an armful of fresh branches from a huge plant he robbed, and I wanted to dry and cure the weed correctly, of course. But, I had these huge marijuana branches, and wanted to at least get stoned to deal with trimming them all down.
I tried a couple of methods.
I didn't dare try to microwave, because that just seems fucking retarded.
I tried using my oven, setting it to the lowest possible heat, and hanging some small buds on the top rack, I was kind of worried about burning it and making my whole house smell like weed, so I only put it in for less than ten minute intervals, and it worked well enough for me to toast a couple bowls and get stoned.
I tried drying it under the light I have over my snake's tank, which was a bit too hot, and burned the weed a bit.
The best way, I found, for drying weed quick, is to put a couple buds in a paper bag and let it sit. I had a couple of those silica gel packets, so I put one in each bag to sop up some extra moisture.

i guess vaping would be the best way, id think it wouldnt matter if its dried.

this. Ive heard you can put weed in the oven for 10 or 15 mins on 125 and it kills bacteria and other shit. I guess this method would work for drying out ur weed also.

Re: Smoking fresh pot without curing
Thanks for all the input. I ended up not going the tobacco route. Here's what I did instead:
I wrapped the buds in a handkerchief I have. I then sat the handkerchief on top of my laptop's battery charger which gets quite hot after it's been powering the computer for 20-30 minutes or so. And then to make sure I kept as much heat in as possible, I topped the whole thing off with my baseball cap. I left it like this overnight, and when I awoke the next morning, I opened up the handkerchief and the buds crumbled into a fine rolling mix. I did a shit job with the trimming of the fan leaves, but there wasn't too much in the roll. So as the song goes, I smoked two joints in the morning, and it was mighty fine. I love how when it comes to pot, it always pushes me to improvise, adapt, and overcome.
