Vaporizing
So to my understanding, when you vaporize the THC in marijuana, you inhale pretty much only THC, some other cannabinoids, and water. I have noticed what feels like deep congestion coupled with shortness of breath after i take a pretty good sized hit off my vaporizer.
I could understand cottonmouth still occurring after switching from smoking to vaporizing, but does THC really cause congestion and that heavy feeling in your chest no matter how you get it into your lungs?
I'm just looking for ideas as to why you still get that feeling in your lungs after suckin on vapor.

Re: Vaporizing
-Not enough running/swimming..etc
-Ciggerates (My love for weed made me cut down from a pack a day to 1-2 prime times a night.) It's so much more soothing.
Try googling your symptoms and associate it with THC.

i have actually just started smoking cigs. What would smoking cigs have to do with the THC getting deep in my lungs?

Re: Vaporizing
Instead of addin a new thread, I'll switch views a little.
I was reading through a thread about using IPA to clean your pipe, then letting the Iso evaporate so you get all the resin from the pipe.
I did this and ended up using an old shaving razor to scrape the couple of plates i used. I put the resin in the vape and started heating it over a candle. It took a little bit to see anything come up so i just started sucking on my tube that goes down into the vape. then this thick black stuff started coming up and it felt pretty bad in my lungs.
No smoke came out when i exhaled.
I used my vape on it again and caped it this time. the bulb filled with a thick and roughly brown vaper. I ripped it all in and it felt like cyanide in my lungs. Nevertheless, i held it till i got to the window. I looked at the vape and the resin was still boiling those thick fumes, so i inhaled those.
I did get stoned...but it was a very weird and strangely hyper typed stoned. It wasn't like anything ive ever felt before. And i thre up halfway through this post and i think im gonna throw up again
I don't have too many people who i can talk to about "advanced" weed smoking that would actually give relevant feedback

Re: Vaporizing
I have also had similar effects from smoking resin (not to your extent). But It was a fucking weird high and my lungs felt like shit this was only a few days ago. Ive come to the conclusion that smoking resin is fucking shit and I'm only gonna stick to pure green shit from now on and lets be honest would you rather be smoking some nice pure green shit or some shitty looking black resin thats probably a shitload more damaging to your lungs.

I've smoked resin from a pipe before and it was fine...but trying to vaporize it...bleah.
I also took a bunch of temazepam, lorazepam, and some hydrocodone too. I think thats why i threw up...twice.

Re: Vaporizing
Vaporizing is supposed to be easier on the lungs, Im guessing you have some sort of respiratory disease or your hitting it wrong.
Is the vapor really hot? What kind of device are you using?

I was using a lightbulb vape. It was so bad that it made me not want to do it ever again...but i did. It was fine the second time i did it...
I think what happened is that I still had some ISP on the resin when i put it in the vape and then i inhaled a bunch of those super heated vapors...really bad stuff. And the second time i hit it, all the ISP had been vaporized.

A light bulb vape can hardly be called a vaporizer at all. Something is worth doing right, if you plan to 'vaporize' in the future, make an investment. I wouldn't say this if there wasn't a world of difference between a light-bulb and a decent commercial vaporizer. $130 dollars may seem like a lot, but if you plan to reap the benefits of a vaporizer, you have to get at least a halfway decent product. A good, cheap, (and portable) solution is something called a vapor genie http://www.vaporgenie.com/ it's just an additional piece that you put on top of a bowl.
It's at least a significant step up from a fucking ghetto/shitty lightbulb, fyi. Not trying to sound too flamey, but I've tried all of the above, and I just find lightbulb vapes to be a joke, and not really something that can be considered "vaporizing". There is a certain trick/art to it, the more stable the temperature source, the better. This is why commercial, electrically powered (convection, ceramic heating element) ones are the best. You're most truly 'vaporizing' when you're able to maintain an optimal temperature. When the temperature is difficult to keep steady, and fluctuates wildly due to the heat source (ie: light bulb vapes), you are likely still inhaling a considerable amount of carcinogens and smoke.

Re: Vaporizing
A friend of mine was given a vaporgenie from his brother. It works pretty well, but without a steady, full flame source (no cheap/low-on-fuel lighters) it tends not to reach the desired temperatures. It's a decent portable device, but if you want a reliable vape I don't suggest it.
