I just have three questions:

1.) Can I set a smoke alarm off with a vape? It defintely has "smoke-esque" vapor coming out of it at a certain temperature, like it can come out relatviely heavily...However, will those vapors be detected? I can turn it down but it takes alot longer to finish a bowl and its a pain in the ass

2.) If a smoke alarm goes off will they know which room it came from...How do they know? Just by which room has smoke coming out of it?

3.) Growing in college, could I get away with this? There would be no reason for an RA or anyone to come in here but I don't know the rules and stuff but do you think I can get away with growing indoors...

1. Not unless you smoke right next to it, try to do ghost hits anyways, more THC gets into your blood that way

2. I cant for sure about your school, but at mine they're all wired together, so theres no way for them to know how it went off. If there's smoke coming out, you might have some other issues

3. Again, it depends, but mainly on your RA. I guarantee growing marijuana is against the rules, but only if they find out

Oh, I know its clearly against the rules. But if I have one plant in my closet how would anyone know?

What I meant by the rules here was I'm not sure about the right to search my stuff, like I've heard of there just being random dorm searches in other schools in other states, never here but i don't know if they would do that or not...especially without reasonable suspicion...

1. I'd say there's no worries. I've been smoking joints in my room since I got here and the alarm hasn't gone off. just put a shirt or bag over it. remember though to take it down after because you can get massive fines for that (at my school anyway)

2. like the other poster said, I cant say for sure. here all they can tell is what suite it came from, not what individual bedroom.

3. similar to #2, but I think that you could get away with it so long as you have some small closet operation and dont make it too obvious.

Solution: Move the fuck out of College.

no, you probally wouldn't with a bowl either. if paranoia gets the best of you, invest in a shower cap.

no you won't get away with it, they probally insepct at least once a semester. why would you want pot plants in your room is beyond me...

1.) No, I know of a few people that have vapes in their dorms, both at my school and at my buddies schools. It won't set the fire alarm off. I've even smoked a blunt in a dorm w/ just a shirt over the smoke detector. We were blowing it out the screen. There wasn't really a significant amount of smoke in the room either.

2.) I'm not sure. At any rate, our building's has gone off twice since school started and the one next to us has gone off. You stand outside for a few minutes then go back in. People burn popcorn etc, it happens. No biggie.

3.) I've thought about this one. Number one - they'd throw your ass out immediately, or kick you off campus and/or call the police. But you could probably pull it off in a small concealed micro grow.

It just all depends on the situation. Do you routinely have people in your room? (higher chance someone will somehow discover your grow and rat you out) Does your RA come in your room? Is your roommate cool w/ it? (if you have one...) How concealed is it gonna be?

I definitely wouldn't say it's impossible.

While I've never been in a dorm I've been in many small hotel rooms with more than one smoke alarm in the little place and it's illegal to smoke in them and the owners always threaten to give huge fines if you smoke anyway AND promise that they will know if I smoke at all...and always vaped all night in them and nothing ever went off or ever happened.

Couldn't answer the other questions but I wouldn't risk growing. But that's your decision.

Move the fuck out of college... is it just me or does that sentence barely make sense? Do you mean quit college or just stop living on campus? Irrelevant I know...but I'm just curious. Say that sentence out loud and you'll understand what I mean.

I meant stop living on campus. Over here tertiary education is called University and College is only used (and rarely at that) to describe living in some sort of University housing. The fuck was purely to emphasise the point.

1. I know at my old university they were no actually smoke detectors, but were really heat detectors if you catch my drift, and i smoked all the time with no issue, i used a spoof and a fan and all was good.

2. yes they will know it came from your room. this is how a person i knew got kicked off campus.

3. don't grow weed in your closet. RA's are going to stop by your room at least once.

Ah ok. When I read it I just went blank. I said it out loud and it sounded like something an exchange student would say for some reason. I gotcha now

1. Smoke out the window and you're fine. You could even smoke in the middle of the room without setting the alarm off but your room will stink.

Besides, its not the alarm that gets you caught, its the smell. make sure you cant smell it in the hall, put a towel under the door, spray febreeze around the door area, use a sploof if you're paranoid.

2. Yes, the know exactly what room it came from.

3. Growing in a dorm is a horrible idea. You dont have room. You will reek up your hall. RAs will enter atleast once a year, probably once a semester minimum, plus everytime you're being too loud or get caught drinking.

Really though, even if it wernt for all that you still shouldnt do it. If you get caught growing you will get kicked out of school, probably arrested. Good luck getting into another school with that on your record.

You're in the privlidged position to live a life of comfort and relative wealth after school. Dont fuck it up and wind up managing a Denny's when you're 50. This is why i dont even reccomend dealing, much less growing, if you're living on campus. No matter how much you make its never worth the risk.

What is the use in growing just one plant? Grow big or go home. In this case I would suggest you go live at home where you can grow big. Otherwise it's not hard to buy your marijuana. Especially in college.

Whatever happened to going outside for a smoke? But this is what i do with my bong when i don't want people to smell or see smoke in my room...

1. I use a bong, so i inhale the smoke, then after my toke i cover the bowl piece with my hand.
2. Then i exhale into a pillow.
3. after the session i open a window, and lightly spray the place.

1) At my school we would smoke blunts literally under the smoke alarm and it never went off, this is the least of your worries. Just don't set anything on fire , I would be more concerned with cutting off the smell from your room to the hallway. Smell is what will fuck you, I have a lot of experience with this.

2) I think when they turn it off, they have some sort of system that detects where the incident started, but as stated above I would not be worried about this.

3) I wouldn't try it to be honest with you, if they ever caught you...it won't surprise me if you faced expulsion. In my eyes it's not worth the risk, a college education is nothing to waste. I've never grown marijuana period before but there has to be some rather pungent smell people would probably be able to identify.


A little side story, one night in my dorm around 3 in the morning my roommate and I smoked a pretty huge blunt while we were wasted. We didn't even realize we had left the door open (no towel or anything -straight circulation to the rest of the dorm). After which the RA knocks on our door, knowing that the smell was coming from our room (We had closed and locked the door before she came), we turned off all the lights and went to sleep and completely ignored her. The next day she confronts us and tells us we need to talk to the resident adviser. We go to her office the next day and she tells we need to go in front of a judiciary board to determine if we were really at fault of the accused act. We went there made up some shit that we were sleeping and thus couldn't of been smoking and ultimately got off scott free of the entire matter.

Moral of the story: Even if you are as stupid as I am, you can get away this shit.. it's a joke.

I'm not sure about your school but at mine, the smoke detectors only go off if there is black smoke detected
