Stealing wedding bands from people dying in the hospital.
So I was thinking, it seems like a lot of old grannies and shit that end up in comas or whatever in the hospital or are like in the ICU about to die or something have some kind of wedding ring they keep on, sentimental value or some shit I guess. But anyways if I were to just kinda skim around the place one day and see if I can find out which ones are in comas or unconscious or whatever, how hard would it be to stroll in unnoticed and pluck the ring off their finger? I thought maybe I could carry around some flowers and look sad so people just think I'm there for a family member. Its not like dead people need jewelry anyways, ya know?
Thoughts/suggestions? What's the worst than can happen if I get caught by some do-goodist doctor or something?

Re: Stealing wedding bands from people dying in the hospital.
Even though I think this is fucked up. There is a movie that had some people who drove ambulances and they would steal the injured or dead people shit. It might of been dirty jobs I'm not sure.

Re: Stealing wedding bands from people dying in the hospital.
besides being compleatly fucked up, it might work. but hospitals make people take jewlery off befor surgery incase they have to MRI you or what ever, so if you can find some one in a hospital in a coma that still has a ring on, AND the ring isent stuck on cause there knuckles got fat or some thing and the doctors dident wanna cut the ring off.
then it might work.
but if you get cought dont expect any judge to take it easy on you, no one lieks some one who takes advantage of old people

Damn I didn't even think of the ring being stuck on. That would suck to go to yank it all smooth-like and wind up having to stand their and tug it.
Maybe if I can find some kind of little container of Vaseline or something it would make it easier to get it off.

Re: Stealing wedding bands from people dying in the hospital.
I doubt you'd make it to any patient rooms, not to mention the ICU where patient rooms are literally glass cubicles to ensure constant supervision. You'd be confronted right away if someone saw you going room to room. Most hospitals have strict visitor restrictions and cameras. This might be easier in a nursing home or hospice. The whole concept is really fucked up but if you're gonna do it be sure to check the bedside drawers. Consider wearing scrubs or just act confused and say you're looking for grandpa.

Re: Stealing wedding bands from people dying in the hospital.
wrapping string down the finger and then under the ring will get it off stuck fingers.
Low man, low. Also, they are watching for people stealing meds, so they are gonna notice if you are wandering around.
And no one is gonna let you off, due to aforementioned lowness. Haha, i can see someone coming out of surgery, seeing the ring gone, thinking their wife left them and just crimping their oxygen tube on purpose.

Re: Stealing wedding bands from people dying in the hospital.
Don't wear jewelry when you do that.
Someone will catch you. I hope.
Then they will fucking kill you and take your shit.
They might do an anal job on you. I hope. But then they would not be stealing your virginity. Asshole.

they take rings and stuff of people and put them into little plastic envelopes. it would most likely be in a drawer next to the bed, along with other personal items

Most people would have a cell phone in the bedside drawer, maybe snacks and other bullshit too. The hospitals are only responsible for valuables put into the vault for safekeeping, and they reccomend that patients do so.

If they keep snacks in there do you think it'd be anything worth taking, like maybe some Nutter Butters or something?

really fucked up..
not the worst idea i have heard though. try the drawer beside them though. Nutterbutters are good and would be a nice treat to have walking out the place with handcuffs on.

Re: Stealing wedding bands from people dying in the hospital.
I believe the standard procedure in many medical institutions involves the removal of personal items to prevent such occurrences.

Re: Stealing wedding bands from people dying in the hospital.
Not in most hospitals, if you're checked in anywhere besides the E.R they make you get a security locker, controlled by them and make you deposit anything that's theft potential.
At least in hospitals I've been in, which have been alot in a few states and that's the policy. It's better to go for wallets imo.

Re: Stealing wedding bands from people dying in the hospital.
great plan if you can find a hospitol that doesnt have
1 security
2 cameras
3 sign in sheets
4 vigilant staff
besides ALL personal belongings are taken from patients and given to a family member or stored away somewhere with a key. even clothes.
if someone is in a coma or dying. their family will most likely be by their side.
cellphones are not allowed in hospitals.
if you want candy go buy it. if you steal, it should be for profit and/or stuff you can't afford or something that's expensive that you rather not pay for.
besides, most hospitals wont even let you in to visit anybody unless you are a family member of the patient.
in conclusion, this idea wont work. but by all means, go for it.

Remember to bring a cleaver or something. To chop them off, theyre probably stiff from death/sickness.

Re: Stealing wedding bands from people dying in the hospital.
Take it from someone who spent two weeks in the ICU - you will never get in without being stopped by someone, usually more than one someone. Not to mention the entire ICU is designed to be monitored at all times - people are watching.
Other places though, I dunno, can't be that hard. Go for it, it could work. I'd enjoy reading about it on the news.
