Better Living Through Chemistry Discussions of any and all sorts of mind-warping chemicals, pills, booze, mind machines, trippy stuff, current street prices, importing pharmaceuticals, smart drugs, nutrients, herbs, and altered states. Please try to keep your conversations "theoretical" in nature, since this is an open conference.

Default What's the point?

I've been wanting to know this for a while...

What exactly is the point of having "Official" threads like DXM, Drug Testing and Show your ______ if they aren't going to be stickied?

The new arrivals and other new posters post new threads about said subjects and get flamed for not digging up threads that are fucking 4 pages down the board. All it takes is a search I know..but you people know that function simply isnt going to be used as much as it should.

Also, mentioning that the links are in the Better Living Through Chemistry's Rules Of Conduct - Read Before Posting thread is useless. The only link to an official thread that works in that one is the Post your _____ Thread from 07.

It just baffles me that certain mods bitch and moan about getting those threads used for what they're intended while they refuse to make them stickies. It's just seems pointless and ignorant.

Just wondering...

I never understood why they were never stickied, it would make more sense to have them at the top of the page then having to go dig them up.

Because that would make sense. Totse is not run by logic or efficiency. It is what it is.

That seems to be the case dude. I mean, even if they wanted to keep the board looking streamlined by not having a couple of extra stickies, at least make a thread that has the sole purpose of linking to all the other official threads and keep said links up to date. A thread with a title like "The Official link to Officials thread" (:P) or something like that would be fine...but even then it'd be more work that the mods obviously refuse to do because you'd have to keep the links recent and valid.

The fact that the links are in the BLTC rules thread is a waste of time because 1) No one reads that shit..even if they should and 2) The links aren't even up to date.

i'll fix the index once caffiene and nicotine start firing neurons...

from what i gather, official threads aren't stickied because they should live and die by there own merrit. if eventually they fall out of flavor enough your right we might not use them any more. but at current moment, we do..

it ain't broke, so why fix it?

He does have a point though. Noobs don't know how to use the search feature, let alone that it exists, and I think a lot of them don't venture past the first page.

Save you guys the trouble of closing the daily DXM/Drug testing/Stash-bragging threads.

More posters make new threads rather than dig up old ones, so its fucking broke.

And where do you draw the line for "death by its own merrit"? past 1st page? 3rd? month old?
Nobody likes a necro.

And as someone pointed out earlier, large chunk of posters here dont know how to use search feature, dont know it exist, or are too high/paranoid/od'in on their "laced weed" so if its not on the first page then here comes a new thread.

What if all the acolytes started making all threads that are not on 1st page "official"?
Official pluggin jenkem thread
Official snorting nutmeg thread
Official dickvein shot thread
Official my drugs are better and cheaper than yours
Official amoxycillin trip reports thread

This forum needs alot more than just OFFICIAL threads stickied, but you fuckers (mods) are too lazy to organize the shit and keep it up to date.

At least Meta doesn't ban people for posting outside of the DXM thread anymore, haha. Damn those people with 5 posts who didn't know about it!
