Well i ended up getting some brick so i figured why not and was more than happy with the results and the simplicity. the shit is bomb way better than if u were to roll it up or something.


What brand of butane should i be getting i know some contain some additives that create a distinict smell to alert you of a leak.

what kinda bowl or dish do you guys use to collect the shit in? dont feel like gettin pyrex dish or what not.

make sure you get butane that does not say it has ODERANTS anywhere on the bottle because it will ruin all your weed and make your oil taste like ass. Also make sure you don't get small butane lighter refill canisters because they will rip you off. I use one of the larger cans which are about 9 inches long and cost me 2.99. I use one of these cans on an ounce of mid grade. by the way mid grade is much more economicalthan dro for making oil. I use a pop bottle with as many small holes as i can fit from a small straight pin/safety pin in the cap. I put a hole just about the size of the butane nozzle on the bottom of the pop bottle, to make an air tight seal between your pop bottle and butane canister put a a piece or electrical tape over your hole with a hole poked in it. This will prevent butane from spraying out all over the outside of your bottle and freezing your hands off. I just spray it in on a plate until the liquid butane coming out the bottom runs clear for a while. After all the liquid butane dries off and theres just hash oil with bubbles in it heat it with a blow dryer until all the bubbles are gone. (It will dry much faster if you let the plate float in in some lukewarm water and its not cold outside). blow drying is the longest part of the process and can feel like its taking forever but make sure the hash oil stops bubbling because that means the butane is gone. afterwards scrape the oil off the plate with a razor blade and put it on wax paper. I use a paperclip to pick up globs of hash off my wax paper and drop them in test tubes I bought at the American Science And Surplus for 10 cents a piece. You can use a light bulb vaporizer if you don't have test tubes. Make sure when the air is dry you discharge yourself so a static shock doesn't burn/blow you up, it will have a warning for this on you butane canister. And duh don't smoke when your making the stuff.

Get one of the long flat cake pans with the lid. That way its nice and storable, you can heat excess butane off it on the stove easily, you can scrape it up easily.

I make the stuff all the time as I get free cutting from people who grow and so I always have a pound or two of it [cuttings, not oil] around. I use 3 or 4 different brands, depending on what's available at the time. they all seem about the same and work pretty well. I just use the glass of a stereo cabinet.

Right now we are experimenting with new types of edibles. Right now its lollipops. I have about 5 grams of the oil soaking in about 3 shots of homemade vanilla extract [essentially vodka that has had vanilla beans soaking in it for a month]. The recipe also calls for butter, which of course with be laden too. I will post when I get the results.

A few years ago I was stupid and used ronsonol brand butane for my first extraction. The hash had a strong chemically taste and was extremely harsh. After two hits I just threw the shit away. It was a small extraction though, so no real loss. I only use king butane now, with MUCH better results.

No, you have to go to a tobacco shop or sometimes headshops carry it, but your best bet is the tobacco/cigar shop.

See if you can get into some kind of warehouse for foodstuffs. I still have the card my old boss gave me (it's membership only, you have to belong to a tax-exempt group). For example, I can get the Colibri 12 packs for just over $20, and it's tax free.

That said, I never noticed the harshness with rosinol, but maybe that's because I use a vaporizer for my oil.

Get a container, put weed in it, spray butane in until liquid covers weed, take weed out, evaporate butane ?

I use an ink pen a plastic one burn a small hole in the back of the pen with a nail and then insert butane canister for a snug fit while the plastic is still hot.

and then using the ink part i stuff as much weed as i can in there you gotta push pretty hard cause you dont want the weed to blow around.

and then put a coffee filter piece in and then put the cap back on. turn down and spray.

You can only fit around 1 gram in those little pen tube extractors, I admittedly used one way back. They work well in making enhanced joints, but really aren't practical. But seriously, go to lowes and buy some 3/4" to 1.5" PVC, one regular endcap, a male threaded adapter, and a female threaded endcap. Then you can do some real extractions. It will only cost ~$5 too.

I've found in the pop bottle method cutting a hole about 1 inch wide in the bottom of the bottle (the hole will be up top since the bottle is upside down) will prevent pressure from building up in the bottle. This keeps less plant matter from going into my hash thus making it better, My oil is practically see through.
