Deadlifts: The King of All Lifts...
For those of you who don't know dead lifts are a sure fire way to make you a real man. They are extremely taxing on the body and mind because of the amount of weight required. Post your max lift, why you do/don't like the lift, your height/weight, and if it's benefited you.
I usually do about 215 for reps right now. I maxed out at 305lbs. Keep in mind I'm a 5'10 150lb vegan guy at about 6% body fat, so if you're not lifting more than me you better start.
This is my favorite lift of all time. I can't imagine starting a back workout without this lift. I change up all the other lifts in my workout every couple of weeks between t-bar rows, bent over rows, machine cable rows, dumbell rows, and whatever other back exercise I might feel like is necessary.
I hardly ever see any guys in the gym even touching the dead lift rack. If they do it's for another lift, or for extremely light lifting. I'm the only guy I've ever see throw a few 45's on each side.

Re: Deadlifts: The King of All Lifts...
Does this make squatz the queen then?
I max at about 315 lbs and then I can't keep my grip on it.
Anyone know how to increase grip strength or should I just keep trying?

Deadlift lighter weight (80%ish) and hold for time. Or use straps.

I'll try that.
I don't wanna try straps because that wouldn't really increase my grip strength and I'd become reliant on it, wouldn't I?
Or don't they do that?

Use straps so you don't limit your back growth potential, throw in some forearm exercises.

I knew someone would be able to beat me . As the poster above said try straps. Also do you lift with an alternate grip or regular grip? I've found alternate to be the best but I've heard of a risk of tearing the bicep this way.
As for squats they are the prime minister. This is a modern era motherfucker. I would've done a squat thread but I'm a little bitch and can't squat anything even remotely impressive. At least to my standards.

Re: Deadlifts: The King of All Lifts...
i maxed out my weights, so i started doing my first set as volume, to prefatigue. now i can deadlift 110 lbs 45 times, never dropping it and lowering it to about halfway down my shin. pulling 270 is a whole new world then.
deads have their own day right now. im shooting for doing 50 deads at 150, and hitting a gym to put up 400+. ill keep doing them, but i wont push it past 400x5 on a regular basis. im 26, and i know ill never need to be able to pull any shit like that on the street.
