It's my birthday on Thursday, but I have work on Thursday, too.

I want to get off work on Thursday, which would be best:

Calling in sick just before my shift starts
Going in some time significantly before it and getting a leave form

Urgent replies, please.

leave form. they can't be mad then and if you call in sick they could know its your birthday and you lied and have a reason to fire you.

I got my birthday off work once because I had court.

Leave form for sure, especially if you plan on going out. If you call in sick and they see you out partying you're gonna get in twouble.

I went to court for 2 charges that were later dropped. I was out of the courthouse by like 10am. I drank vodka out of a jar with a nozzle or something later.

My job was a material handling laborer.

I'm currently texting around to see if there's anyone that can cover for me.

I work in the evenings, and there's only a few (seven) of us who do my job.

Normally there's three or four on per night.

Yusss, one guy replied, but he's this gangsta guy who might not even turn up, lulz.

Leave form fails and you call in sick = trouble.
Just call in 24 hours early saying you're sick so they can arrange cover and get somebody else to pick up the trash.

go around and ask some people if they wanna switch shifts or pick up other hours? thats how things have gotten done where ive worked...

you want off you need to find a replacement...
