Because smaller bikes/lightweight bikes are much easier to use for bmx. Way more control for doing tricks.

Well, what I used to do is back up a flat-bed pickup truck to the side of my high school, and me and a buddy would grab the entire rack of bikes from the lot, and hoist it up onto the truck. You'd get about 25-30 bikes in one scoop, then we'd just hack the locks off in a field out in the country somewhere. The small ones never did very well, though ( thus my observation on this); we'd just chuck them in a river.

I forgot the bolded part, that's where I see it at the most. Not in the suburbs or city center either. yes I can easily go to "the ghetto" and have been through those areas, lived in one of them when younger etc. That's where I see it as.
