Default Starting my own little grow nook, perhaps a heater?

Hey BLTC!

I can't say I'm a regular poster in these parts, but perhaps you fine folks could enlighten me on something...

I'm going to grow a few pot plants, indoors, and I'll be going out to the store to get all the necessary materials today. I have my list made: Three small pots for growing seedlings, three larger ones they'll move into, 600 watt HPS growing lamp, cycle timer for the lamp, oscillating fan for air flow, good soil, plant food, dowels to support the plant, tray to catch runoff, blocks of wood to keep the pots above the puddle, yadah yadah, BUT...

Would it be a good idea to grab a small heater as well? I mean, winter months ahead, and while the heat in the house is pretty stable, it's a tropical plant, right?

I'll probably have more questions as the months roll on, but this is the first that came to mind.

sounds like a good idea. you should take into consideration the smell of flowering. people usually get carbon filters for that which are hella money. as well as led which takes less power but is expensive

To be honest the lights will probably provide enough heat for the plants.

How about one of those Ionic Breeze type air purifiers? I have one of those, maybe I'll stick that in there.

It is a sun lamp after all...

Alrighty, how about light cycle? 12 hours? 24 hours?

Anyone can make a carbon filter for a fraction of the price of those shitty expensive ones online. Might not be as great quality but you get what you pay for.
