I thought she liked me, but not so sure?
Theres this girl I sit next to in one of my classes who is shy, probably a bit of an ugly duckling but she seems totally into me. If I talk to the kid on the side of me she will immediately talk about the exact same thing with me or ask me what I said. When we do talk (especially the first time) she seemed a bit embarrassed or nervous and laughed when I laughed. The other day when I walked in she was talking to that kid and I got a bit discouraged, but when i sat down they stopped talking (I sit between them so this might be why). She try to look at me when she thinks I wont notice. That day she was mirroring my body language EXACTLY, if id fold my arms about 10 secs later she would fold hers...move to fold my hands and again within a few seconds she would do the same. I did this over and over again just to watch her do it. Today, she followed me all the way out the building, but i was stupid and ignored her. I DONT KNOW WHAT IM AFRAID OF!
Ive been trying to talk to her more but its hard for me. I think Im afraid that i'll get too attached to her (I am already) and the opposite where she would have feelings for me that i didnt. To be honest she doesnt have the cutest face(shes not bad otherwise), but I know i should get with her anyway, just to build my confidence (is this bad?). Anyway, today i asked her for some notes i missed (just to talk to her) at the end of class and she seemed like she wasnt that into me. I dont know, maybe she was scared talking to me, but i was just expecting her to say something after I asked and she showed me where it was and i started copying. I know im thinking way too much into this, but i guess im a bit crazy. I feel like she is just dying to my attention. I go in everyday with a plan but it never works out...I ALWAYS get too nervous but im getting better. Any Advice? thanks
Sorry for my gay ass rant but it makes me feel a bit better i guess

Re: I thought she liked me, but not so sure?
Well first off....why the hell would you go for this chick? She seems very socially awkward and on top of that she seems like she would stalk you if you guys ever broke up. But anyway to each is own I suppose. The best advice I could probably give you is this: the more you care about getting a girl the less likely you will get the girl. I know this sounds crazy and i have no idea how it works but it does. you have to truly convince yourself that you're not going to get her. By having this mindset you can easily go up to her and talk to her about whatever is on your mind, which will allow you to be yourself. Most guys have personalities that women are into but the problem is guys usually suppress their personalities in the presence of women because they're afraid if they act improper they will get shafted. Of course when I say be yourself I really mean be your R rated self rather than your X rated self if you know what I mean. When your with your friends or by yourself I would think that you have confidence. Thats what you need to bring to the conversation. Anyway once you do this it may take a little time but eventually she'll fall for you. Just be careful not to fall into the friend zone. Thats where conversation comes into play. Don't just talk to her about stuff but incorporate flirtatious aspects such as body language, topics involving sex, etc. Just don't be dumb and say stuff like "Damn your hot". Say something more like "You know, you look a lot like..." Then she'll say something like "I don't know if thats a good thing or a bad thing". Thats when you say "No its a good thing...she's very pretty". Notice I didn't say sexy or hot and notice I didn't say she was pretty? Your basically indirectly telling her she's pretty without actually saying and essentially that makes her not feel threatened. Also by saying pretty instead of hot makes you sound like a more reasonable guy rather than a sex fiend. Another way of flirting with her is by outwardly catching her checking you out. Next time she stares at you, stare at her back and then say something like "are you checking me out?" The fact that you outwardly asked her shows that you have a lot of confidence. It also shows that your a playful kind of guy. She'll probably respond by saying something like "Omg, I was def not checking you out." Thats when you say something like "lol, thats ok, I don't mind. Kind of reminds me of my pornography days." This is good to say because A. Shows that you have a sense of humor and your playful. B. Shows that you once again have confidence but not just in social situations but rather about yourself. C. Its actually a good conversation starter for sex. And D. Once again reinforces that you have a thing for her. Anyway these are just a few examples of good ways to flirt with a girl and after doing this for a couple of weeks thats when I would begin to consider taking it to the next level....asking her out on a date. But when you do ask her out on a date make sure you keep your plan simple. By trying to come up with the perfect lines and actions your only thinking about one possible scenario rather than considering all possible scenarios. For instance if you plan to ask her this and expect her to respond this way so that you can say the perfect line to ask her out, your not considering the fact that she might end up saying something completely different to the point where you have to quickly come up with a different response. Its best to keep it simple and open to changes. So thats my rant to you....

Dude, life isn't about "getting" with people. Just be comfortable and be yourself. If she likes you that way, cool. If not, that's cool too. It'll happen when it happens.

http://www.useit.com/alertbox/20021223_05_mistake.gifother than that, I completely agree with him/her...except for the first few sentences saying not to go for it.
I say go for it...she sounds like a nice girl, not those slutty types.

Re: I thought she liked me, but not so sure?
that part about "the more you care about her the less likely you are of being with her" is very true. Not long after i wrote that I was talking to another, much more attractive, out of my league girl and because i knew this and didnt care about her I wasnt nervous. And although we didnt have a meaningful conversation, i realized how strange it was that i was confident enough.
Dont get me wrong I dont consider myself unattractive, and I dont think other people do either. In fact Im pretty sure that almost anyone would like me. I have a severe problem with confidence though ("theres no way she could possibly like me so ill just stare off, ignore her, and completely ruin my chances"), but the past few days ive been trying harder...i guess thats the best i can do.

She sounds like she wants to be just like you more than get with you. Maybe shes a lesbian and copying your awesome pick-up chicks skills.
