I can't seem to find a good online guide. I can do everything else fine except the act of actually putting it in the vein. Everything else (mixing the dope with right water proportions, filtering, drawing up and I know the drill once it's in the vein) but I can't seem to put it in a vein. Can anyone point me to a good online article I can use for shooting? I'd really appreciate it :).

practice makes perfect, and if you're used to it you can pretty much feel it when you've hit a vein. iirc there's a guide (although i cant verify for accuracy ) on http://www.panthrax.host.sk/

I pretty much know the drill, I've been having friends shoot me for a while; there doesn't really seem to be much to it. I've got a bunch of dope though, a bag of clean needles and nobody to shoot it for me. Thanks for the link I'll check it out.

Using that article, I successfully shot myself for the first time. I have been shooting dope for over a year (though I don't do it much...I do it so little I've never had any withdrawal and have never been sick), but have always had my friends do it. That makes me very very happy to know that I don't have to be dependent on having other people shoot me :D.

the whole air thing was always a fear stuck in the back of my head but i didn't care enough to let it interfere.

if i wasn't entirely suicidal at that point in time i would have refrained from needles due to that myth amongst many others.

do like they tell you to when you give blood, pump your fists a few times, its safer/cheaper to practice with water...

tips: leave a unit or two of air in the tip, so when you hit a vein, it fills with blood. fucking rotate!!!! try to use a new spike each time, dull ones do damage.

My g/f just found my stash box (which is obviously a drug stash box), found my needle (she doesn't know I do any of that kinda shit at all), threw the box at my head and nailed me, threw the needle (she didn't see my dope, and that was only 1 dirty needle...I've got a bag of clean ones), dumped me and left. dont shoot. It will become a habit which will lead to an addiction. My friend was a junkie, he commited suicide because of the struggles it gave him with life.

Well the main thing I learned from shooting for the last 10 months is that once the needle is in your arm (wearing a tourniquet works best and stops almost any vain rolling, IMO) and if you are positive you're around the vain, pull back a very little bit and if you're not in, just push it in a little further or pull it back a little and it should fill up the .25cc or whatever with blood.

I don't know, you might know that but when I first started, I never saw anyone shoot up even at a doctors office and if I missed, I'd just pull it out and try in a different spot.

Self employed programmer. I started doing freelance work and obtained steady clients that way.

i've also been shooting dope off an on for about 4 months. but i've been doing H for about 2 years. with breaks lasting months. not i'm back on the on part of my fun time. i also know the risks associated with heroin. that's why i try to not do it so much. but i alternate my opiate use. this weekend i might be getting some suboxone. gonna try shooting that for the 1st time.
lol. that thing with your gf sucks. sounds like my last relationship. when i got off the wagon and was drinking and smoking crack and then got dumped. thank god i do neither now.
