Default Blogging about the cannabis situation at large

I did a little bit of work doing adult blogs, but that wasn't something that was particularly fun beyond the initial shock value of writing porn. So, with what I know about wordpress, I one night registered the domain www.stonerculture.com and decided that I could blog about cannabis! Well, I've got a few (lame) posts up, but I'm not entirely sure what direction I should take with this. I have no interest in making it commercial at the moment. My ultimate goal is to have a well organized and accurate reference for all things cannabis, but first and foremost I want to create a site that will be of some interest to the casual potsmoking internet user. Things I've thought might merit potential inclusion in the future include basic info on cannabis, cannabis essays, budshots, strain smoke reports, paraphernalia reviews etc. I may decide to open a discussion forums in the future if I get the traffic to make one productive. Anyway, post any thoughts you may have about my site in this thread. If anybody here has something to say about anything cannabis-related and you don't mind putting forth a minimal grammar / spellcheck effort, I would be happy to post anything you write, as long as it's of quality.

Well, it's really a project right now, not a thing to make any money. I have lots of unused bandwidth on the account it's being hosted on, so I might as well use some, right?

I aim to be informative. The last thing I want is a site covered with ads for volcanoes and "legal buds" of all sorts.

You should turn the site into a catalog of all drugs featuring experiences, suggestions, general information, drug news, complex explanations of the effects of drugs on your body, and a large amount of content devoted to drugs and drug culture. This dream site would be a sister site to totse and would involve direct communications with totse administrators and members.

I'm basically aiming at something similar to erowid here, just with forums, and possibly a better information infrastructure. All you gotta do is invest a good bit of money, advertise, sell advertisement and give me full administrative powers over all decisions made on the site (under you of course).

Together we could make this a very well known and trusted source for all things Psychoactive!

But for real man, just give up your dreams now, a weed site?? Over fucking done!

I'm not going to argue that weed websites are anything but oversaturated, because it's very much the truth. The difference between my site (as I see it) and the vast majority of other marijuana related websites is / will be content. Nearly all of the websites I've seen devoted to the topic are populated by articles and blog posts that are written extremely poorly. If I have an emphasis on well-written content, then, with proper exposure, I think the site could attract and hold a decent readership.

You should make it a site for all drugs, then maybe i could be a regular and many more people, but if marijuana's your thing then good for you and good luck with it.

Well, if and when I get around to adding a forum, there will without a doubt be places to discuss other substances. After I get some more things set up, I may post some occasional "big picture" drug war news.

As for rolling joints and blunts, I aim to provide instruction along these lines: http://www.5min.com/Video/How-to-Roll-a-Joint-by-Pierre-Berton-8047

here's a blurb for you, or an article you can steal for your collect-all...

the fact that last year there were 872,000 cannabis related arrests, a new record. yea. shitty. so your basically saying a writing job has come up and your editor in chief? say it that way, you'll get more interest..

Thanks for the heads up. I found a relevant article using Google News and posted it.
