Amsterdam
So I am headed for a 10 day trip in Amsterdam. I am already abroad and thought that since I have a break in my schedule I could stop and have a nice vacation. I'm already familiar with the smoke shops / shroom laws, etc... Just more so wondered if anyone could point me in the direction of some good clubs / raves - the availability of other substances... ketamine, etc... the likelihood I will find them at all? And well... whatever other experience you have to offer on the area is find with me.
Thanks.
Peace.

You are asking for known sources which clearly goes against the rules of asking/naming sources!

Re: Amsterdam
I am merely trying to get an idea of the city i am headed to. I am NOT asking for any specifics that would violate totse rules.
I could ask one about their general knowledge of narcotics use in the city of Amsterdam. Or where to fucking dance.
Jesus.

Re: Amsterdam
posted from http://www.webehigh.com/city/detail.php?CITYID=Amsterdam
The shops, mostly located in the city's historic center and its Red Light District, are closely regulated and must adhere to strict rules. "Trading in hard drugs is banned, and it is prohibited to sell to persons under 18 years of age, no advertising is permitted, and the maximum amount per transaction per client is 5 grams," explained a statement on the city government's official Web site. "Where more than 500 grams of soft drugs are found on the premises, or where hard drugs are being sold, or where the premises is the center of a public nuisance, the police have powers to close the premises - on the authority of the mayor and aldermen."
With so many coffee shops to choose from, obviously some rise above the rest. The Smoking Team, an anonymous group that posts Internet reviews of its favorite shops, recommended Blue Bird, Homegrown Fantasy, Dutch Flowers and Frontpage. Other shops mentioned were The Grasshopper, The Bulldog, Energy Coffee Shop and Barakka.
The Smoking Team advised that visitors watch out for shoddy product. "Lots of coffee shops located in the Red Light District sell the same grass regardless of type you order - you pay the price of white widow but in most of these shitty coffee shops you will get a bag of an ordinary skunk," the Web site said.
A traveler named Kara warned that there are plenty of "tourist traps" among the coffee shops. "You did not travel to Amsterdam to meet other Americans and smoke bad, overpriced weed," she said. "If you are at a loss of where to go, try one of the Greenhouse shops, which are known for killer bud."
A smoker named Sativa agreed. "Amsterdam has many great coffee shops but also really bad ones as well," she said, recommending Greenhouse, Yazooh and Blue Velvet as spots with good buys. "A good way to get discounts is to let the staff know that you're not just some tourist and that you plan to be a repeat customer. If you go back and manage to bring more customers with you then you'll notice they will take to you like a stoner to weed."

Re: Amsterdam
When I was in Amsterdam this summer I just wandered around looking in coffee shops and seeing which ones looked the least sketchy, or boring. There will be a lot of middle aged American tourists getting stoned in the cleaner, more.. presentable cafes, but this is not where you want to go.
I went to the Greenhouse and got 2 grams of Big Bang, which is pretty nice pot. Don't make the mistake I did, and go into their seed shop. It's about 3 blocks from their cafe, and easily recognizable as it sells a whole bunch of pot merch.
I really didn't like the Bulldog Cafe, seemed a bit unwelcoming to me.
Also, if you're there and it's open go to the Heineken factory. It was closed for some sort of renovations when I went there, but apparently there is a tour with a whole bunch of games you play along the way where you can win free Heineken stuff.
Also, avoid the cheap chip stands and burger stalls they have all over the city. You can find cheaper and better food at the smaller restaurants, and it's not as though they are going to care that you're stoned out of your mind, act respectful and enjoy yourself and it'll be great.
Just adding more points as I go.. Don't smoke in the street, it is illegal and stupid to do it there when you can easily just go to a cafe to get high. And as one of the mighty dutch Bicycle cops told me "Go to that coffee shop there, they have couches" as he rode off on his ten speed..
Finally, crepes. Get one. It will be the size of a hubcap and absolutely amazing.

Re: Amsterdam
As a dutchie myself i would reccomend you to leave amsterdam for what it is and go to some of the other mayor cities
amsterdam sucks, shitty coke on the streets way too expensive shitty weed etc etc
to say the least about those fuckers who take any chance to ripp off some tourists
your better off checking out other cities like utrecht or even eindhoven
For raves, most ( illegal parties ) are in the squatter scene and are good fun and most people are really kind, but to find out such locations you have to know someone who knows the scene
good luck and have fun
