Default Found a ring, how to test if it's of value

Don't know if this is in the right place, if not please feel free to move.

Found a ring today, silver colour with two black marks down the center of it, the only identifying mark is the number 925 on the inside. What's the easiest way to test what it's made of etc?

After a little research on the net, apparently the number means it's sterling silver. Is it worth taking to the jewellers?

The easiest way is to take it by a jewelry shop and ask them to tell you about it.

Most likely sterling silver.

Post pictures and we may be able to help a little more.

It's sterling silver and depending on its weight/heft you may be able to pawn it for $1-2 at a pawn shop/antique store/coin store for simply scrap value but I wouldn't bother taking it to a jewelry establishment because it seems like a generic ring.

What kind of statement is that? Most factory made jewelry is stamped.

However a silver ring is worth a dollar, you might as well wear the shit.

Yeah the value of silver rings is really tiny compared to gold or white gold rings.
The value of silver on the market is like $13 an ounce lol.
